Do you let your friends drive your car? My experience tells me you have to be extremely picky.

Never, period. The only person that drove my previous car for like 2 minutes was my dad.

I don't have any problems to borrow my car to my friends. I have confidence in the way they drive.

Normally I don't have any problems to borrow the car to my friends, it only depends of the way that they are driving with they own cars.

Hum....

It depends on the friend...

If I go also, and if I know that the person drives well, it's ok.
If I don't go... maybe only one or two friend of mine!

No fucking way. My insurance premium is huge as it is (although I've never had an accident).

I don't like letting anybody other than my older brother to drive my Evo.. Not a lot of people drove the mini except for few and a lot drove the nissan.. Well it's really the value of the car to me .. The Nissan is my daily driven car and it could take a lot of beating and it will still run and not a lot of people want to drive it anyway.. The mini well they just like driving in it not nessasarly drive it well the Evo they can dream on.. No freaken way am I letting them touch the steering not even for a 1 min drive.

Fuck no.
They can look at it. Maybe even touch it. But they will never have the keys in their hands.
Not even my family has touched my car. My own mother hasn't even been for a ride in it. My guess is that it would scare her...

i don't lend them my car but i let them drive it when i'm there. sometimes when the traffic is horrible and i'm too lazy to drive, i let one my friends take the wheel.

None of my friends can drive a manual, so they don't get to drive :).

Well I had a bad experience letting my friends borrow my car...one of them actually crashed it...but I still lend it sometimes...only the ones I really trust though...

You sure you're in the right place? :D

My friends who are sufficiently good drivers that I'd trust with my keys have their own cars - thus there's no need for them to drive mine. I do, however. let my brothers drive it.

Only if I am with and only a very select few that I know can drive properly and won't do something like ruin the tyres. I get to drive theirs though as I am the car fanatic in the group and am trusted. 8).

Yeah. In the end, it's just a car. There have been a few times I've refused...but it's people I really don't know, don't give a shit about, clearly have no clue about anything other than the name, etc.

It depends on how close a friend it is, more than their abilities as drivers. When letting a close friend borrow your car, you know he/she won't abuse it.

A few months after I had gotten my licence, some friends and I were going on a road trip but didn't have a car. A guy without a licence borrowed a his dad's almost new car, so that I could drive us. That's a brave father!

Well maybe is too much, but I have to agree that only a couple of friends can ride may car, cause I know they take good care of it, but im very special for that

I only lend it to friends who I know can drive well and particularly those who drive a good car with manual gearbox. Most of my friends in the US have automatics and I wont trust them with my Audi S4 - while extremely easy to drive it is not a learner car to learn how to shift gears.

The first time I lent my car out, I was gnashing my teeth with rage - the mad idiot tried start the car in third car, stalled the car 2 times, and rode the clutch. All in the space of a quarter of mile. I pointed the curb to him and asked him to get out and swap places with me - I couldnt take the abuse any more. Fortunately my car survived it w/o any issues.

I have lent the car out to three others since who all drove well.

That happens to you??

I'm never lazy to drive!!
Sometimes, I am so slepy that I switch with my father or my girlfriend because they both drive very well, but normally, I don't get lazy to drive!

only my parents and brothers drive my car aside. Insurance premiums are way too high here to risk an accident.

I think it depends on what you drive, and what your friend drives. They need to be comparable in performance and prestige I think, unless of course your friends is more so. It can also depend on the situation and your mood that day too.

I dont have any problem to lend my car to my friends either....the point its that once ive to do many miles a day to get to work ive got a 110bhp turbo diesel engine....whereas my friends work nearby their residence, and therefore theyve got a pug 205 GTI, a renault clio RS, and a Citroen Saxo VTS 16V as well....as a result, my friends once being used at some sporty cars, they dont fancy driving a 1.9TDI basic equiped Audi A3

I think i let just about everybody have a drive in my esprit when i first got it. Its actually fun to experience the drive from the passenger seat sometimes ;)

Majority of these guys have fast cars themselves already so no worries with letting them loose on my car..

:)
