It's that WRC concept they showed at the 2004 geneva motorshow... are they going to release it as a rally-based consumer vehicle a la Mitsubishi's Evo?

cause I bloody want one.

Well yes, the roadgoing version of the C4 is planned and its launch should be in 2005. It will be shown at Paris Motorshow in October

That's good news. :)

Will it actually LOOK like the concept they showed though? Because the concept was very good.

Well yes, the C4 WRC concept shows pretty well how the roadgoing one will look

Something like this?

Ugh. That looks like a VERRRRY cheap car. No where near the visual impact that the concept WRC C4 Sport had.

They better release a WRC version for the road then, or the entire concept will be worthless.

I doubt they well, the WRC concept was just that... a concept. They may make a "sporty" version but i very much doubt that anything like the WRC version will hit the showrooms

And BTW, a WRC car is for sure way better looking than the basic roadgoing one.. I mean, the Xsata in its most basic form is not really that nice compared to a WRC one:

And the Xsara beeing a "concept" WRC, the difference obviously is even bigger

...and Citroen being french, means that a good decision (to release the C4 looking exactly like the concept) is highly unlikely...

how sad...

I see very almost impossible to get a 2 litre turbo 4x4 C4, once its not compulsory for a make to get a car of this kind, and the policy of the brand should change to a very sporty car manufacturer as mitsubishi and subaru do, in fact, im 99% confident that the sportiest version of the C5 is going to have the same engine as the 180 version of the 307CC or the pug 206GTI, once both brands share their mechanic pieces

REVEALED - THE STYLISH AND INNOVATIVE NEW CITROËN C4

Citroën has revealed first official pictures of the stunning new C4, ahead of its world debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show (23 September – 10 October).

The new Citroën C4 will be presented in two striking and distinctively different bodystyles, and will introduce several major innovations, class-leading aerodynamics as well as numerous significant comfort and convenience features.

The eye-catching C4 Coupé displays sharp, dynamic lines, whilst the C4 Hatchback is more curvy and rounded. In both cases, the sweeping contours make for outstanding aerodynamics, and a drag coefficient of just 0.28 will help keep fuel consumption and CO2 emissions right down.

Among the numerous innovations that the new C4 will bring to the class is a multi-functional fixed centred controls steering wheel, which offers easy access to the centrally-mounted controls. In addition, its unique design will enhance safety by allowing the housing of a specially designed airbag that offers greater protection to the driver.

The new Citroën C4 will also boast other advanced safety features, such as an involuntary lane-departure warning system, designed to help prevent drivers from losing concentration or falling asleep at the wheel, as well as moving, dual-function directional Xenon headlamps, which provide improved lighting when cornering.

Other equipment normally reserved for more expensive cars includes a speed limiter and low tyre pressure warning system. On top of this, the new C4 is also set to be the only car in the class to offer laminated glass side windows, which will not only provide maximum protection against break-ins, but also enhance the acoustic comfort inside the cabin.

And occupant comfort is set to be a key attraction of the new C4. Within the spacious and modern cabin, detailed design touches include a scented air freshener built into the high quality, stylish dashboard. Drivers will further benefit from the unique, translucent instrument cluster that is able to adjust to ambient light, giving a clear read-out no matter what the light conditions.

Powering the new C4 will be a wide range of the Company’s very latest petrol and HDi common rail diesel engines, most of which will meet Euro IV emission standards, offering a broad range of performance - from 90hp to 180hp for petrol and 92hp to 138hp for diesel.

That's pretty good news. I really hope that they release a WRC version. That coupe looks like it has "ricing" potential.
