Raikkonen on pole

How often have you seen this man smile this year?

It was an exciting qualifying session - will it rain , wont it? The pre-qualifying was quite different with some of the runners intentionally slowing down in their hot lap to be able to run in the first part of the qually session - as they thought it would rain.

Sector by sector times:

My impressions:
Kimi:
- Did a solid job, the car did not swerve at all despite some of the sections (particularly the infield section) being slightly damp. Kimi was behind Barrichello for the first two sectors and made it all up in Sector 3. His pole lap was 3 secs quicker than last years pole

Michael:
- Looked like he was being a little cautious as he spun three times earlier today - including pre-qualifying. Was good throughout

Rubens:
Smooth lap. Was a little slow in sector 3 by his own admission. Outqualified Michael 4 out of 5 times here in Silverstone. Will be strong in the race. My pick for tomorrow's win ....

Jenson:
Looked like he could have nipped past Barrichello (but not Raikkonen)except for the bobble a couple of corners before the end

Baumgartner/Bruni:
Evil handling car - their hands were sawing like mad in the cockpit. Looked they were driving rally cars - such was the amount of input that they were giving

Alonso/Trulli:
Nothing special this time. I ont think they are running on higher fuel either

DC:
Might be running with more fuel than Raikkonen. Did not seem to make any obvious mistakes to me.

Gene:
Bad effort as could be seen by the grimace from Patrick Head after his lap. Was a second slower than Montoya....

Note: I will be adding stuff to my original post if I find something cool

hehe told you to look out for the mclarens ;) Although as much as i'd like them to be I dont reckon they'll be as strong in the race, maybe kimi on the last spot of the podium at best; i wouldnt count them out, especially seeing as their merc powerplant seems a lot more reliable.

Look for Trulli and Alonso with renaults powerful starts making up a few places on the start, maybe up into 3rd and 4th??

Although id love to see a different winner, and schumacher has looked far from his best at silverstone, I cant help but seeing him win this one again, lets hope not ;)

Alonso is going to lose 10 spots as he had an engine failure...

lol, seems weird though that he did it so not to breach the fia sporting code, but then admitted he did it on purpose. Either way, its all pretty amusing.

Rubens was owned by Michael this year at Silverstone - the qualifying gap is too little considering how much more fuel Schuey was carrying at the beginning
