I think both Gordon Murray and Colin Chapman did more to further F1 technical development than anyone else.
For those who didnt know Gordon Murray designed the BT48 fan car that sucked the rear of the car to the ground. It ran circles around the other cars till it was outlawed.
Colin Chapman - pioneered lightness as a virtue, aerodynamics - use of wings, ground effects, etc.
I think know the car ur talking about from Gordon Murray its the one that had the fan to suck the car to the ground.

You are wrong about Gordon Murray and the fan car. You are thinking of Jim Hall and his Chaparral cars - he truly was a man WELL beyond his time in racing. It is a pity that the regulators at the time tried to hard to curb him even more than the FIA is trying to Ferrari.
Jim Hall was a brilliant, brilliant man. Hugely unknown by comparison to others.

Your point is noted, Jim Hall's Chapparal 2J pioneered the concept of aero and vacuum cleaner effect in sports car racing in the 60s. However, Murray was the first to being it into F1.
It was Brabham that was the first in F1 i am sure of it cuz it.
It was the 1978 Brabham that used the fan in F1 i am sure of it.
WTF why does it keep making two posts?
