yea seen this about a week ago, that lil thing is quick he get smoked by an 03 cobra big time, but slightly modded my ass he has mad mods, 1 for sure is boost controller!!!

Hearing the RPM's go I think he has a little bit more than the standard BHP, now as far as the EVO driver...he's a tool, he doesn't even hard launch the thing, I think he just got the free fuel and let the SRT-4 guy make a good day for him...anyway's I don't like neons, american rice that's what it is...

because that way consumer get cheaper insurance

you guys must be retarded. now i hate to do this defend a neon or almost any other american car but the neon srt 4 is not some rice copy or whatever. point do does have that big ass nasty ricer spoiler. i hate that. but what it does have is a 2.4 liter turbocharged motor. now u dont have all the high tech shit like the evo no active diff or any fun stuff u have a inline four with a turbo the size of a small child on a light little neon body. in a strait line it is fairly quick. and on the evo not doing a hard launch well dumbass its all whell drive u try and just drop the clutch and floor it ur gonna messup your clutch. my point is simple the srt4 isnt anything like a jap car their is no high techonlgy in it just a big turbo on a motor with a farily large stroke its made to go fast in a strait line thats it. it is the rice eater for the wife beater. trust me i dislike american cars i hate hondas more i owned one worst piece of shit ever. but saying the srt4 is some ricer copy is wrong. and if it is a copy why is it killing the almighty evo ?

Consider Mitsubishi is part of Daimer-Chrysler now, I won't surprised if they pull another Crossfire and have the next gen Neon based on Lancer... so the SRT-4 will become a rebadged Evo9 with a much lower price tag. I believe SRT-4 has a mitsubishi turbo. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't really pay much attention to the compact cars ;)

For the manufacturer, it's all about business. Platform sharing is reality and they'll do it as long as it saves them money. WRX = Saab 9-2, Mazda 323 = Focus = Focus C-Max = Volvo S40/V50, Colt = Smart forFour, Honda = Acura, Nissan = Infiniti... the list goes on. As demonstrated by the Lotus Lada (on top gear), you can make any car fast and handle well, even when it's a russian car costing $200.

Give up the american vs. jap vs. euro fight, they'll all be the same within the next decade... You have jap cars designed by americans in america. You also have american cars designed in germans in germany. Guess what, in the future, you will get cars designed and built in india or china because of cheap labour! BMW has factory in south africa and numerous other manufacturers (VW, Honda, Toyota, etc) have factory in mexico. It's all about the marketing, they're playing with your mind!! You're buying into the image (or "lifestyle" as they preferred term) instead of the car.

Have to admit, I like british cars and I would love to drive a jag s-type R even though it uses an american platform and is built in an ex ford escort factory. Same thing with the MINI, it's a british car but was engineered by the germans with a mexican-built chrysler engine. If you've seen documentaries about it, you'll know how they had to train the british workers to build the car the *german* way. For the americans, you have the Focus designed in germany.. don't have to say much about it. On the other end of the spectrum, you have an Indian guy designing the "great" 350Z in america with parts from all around the world. Yes, it's built in america with a french engine.

This is just my opinion, I don't hate any brand in particular, I just hate ugly cars. In case you wonder, I grew up in a jap car and is now driving an american car... and most cars I love happen to be euro. I can't tell you what car I'll like in 5-10 years. If the russians can build a quality-built car with great look and handling at a very low price, I don't see why it can't be a fun daily driver. Once I get rid of the badge, 99% of the people on the road won't have a clue what car it is anyway. Unless you're talking about expensive "classy" cars, who cares about the brand? IMO, you can't really call Evo, WRX or SRT-4 classy cars.

It seems like the type of posting population here is starting to change, i've seen a couple of new guys ready to flame anyone with different opinions oh well...can't do more than to feel pity for them having such a small brain..
