I like the original Diablo and i find that the Canto is a bit "over"-designed even if it could have been great. But my vote goes for the Murcielago as it is modern and homogeneous. I really hesitated with the Diablo but ... Murcielago.

I personally like the diablo more, but onli if it was a 97, it is the best year. It was the last year Lamborghini was Lamborghini, and not audi. But I voted for the Murcielago because it is probably more practical than a Diablo. :D

I know too little about the Canto and there are two few pics (none, without the sticky tape I think) for me to say anything about the car.

Diablo 6.0 rocks for me :D

My Vote goes to the Canto. The Diablo runs it a close second and the Murcielago a somewhat distant third. The designers at Audi have made the Murcielago and Gallardo into attractive, but far too understated cars for their performance and for Lamborghini's shock-value-bound history. The Diablo was a more homogeneous design than the Countach, but maintained its aggressive class-defining stance and it just shouts "SUPERCAR". The Canto manages to revert a bit from the Diablo and return to some of the core values of the Countach. It is outrageous, perhaps even ugly from some eyes, but at least it was a bold statement and a proper supercar. I choose it over the Diablo and the Murcielago.

i always loved the Canto's styling, and it'd prolly be 1 fast son of a b*tch, so thats 1st for me (shame htey didnt replace the Diablo with it, its so much more outrageous than the murci)
2nd is diablo, its just sooooooo beautiful and exotic lookign with that nose so low down at the ground, its basically the most exotic looking car ever.
3rd is the murcielago, its very special and exotic by any standards except lambo's

It was the last year Lamborghini was Lamborghini, and not audi.
_______________

erm well actually Lambo were part of Chrysler when they started the Diablo and part of an indonesian investment group or something like that after '92 or so, so in '97 Lambo wasnt independent either.

yah lambo was a part of chrysler but sill lambo made the car all alone ... chrysler just gave the money ... and didnt interfere in the designs and all ... yah and the cars were made in italy .. ..

anywayz my vote goes for Murcielago . 8) 8) 8)

diablo, you can't do better than this devil in terms of shock value, I mean it will shock as much as an enzo or mclaren f1 ... timeless shocker

The Murcielago is a seemless design that'll never lose it's shape, just like all other lambos.

Diablo...

Most extreme design of Lambo...Ferocious , aggressive...

And Murcielago I think is too much Audi~

Murcielago will never lose its shape because it mooched off of all other mid engine lamborghinis. It's a caricature of Lamborghini.
Basic shape of Diablo + Countach front bonnet and door curves + Miura rear lights and engine cover
worked out nicely though

Canto would have made a nice departure to edgy lamborghinis, back to Miura curves

But still, All hail the mighty Diablo.

That's not true at all. Marcello Gandini's first design for the Diablo was rejected by Chrysler. His second design was altered by Chrysler's design studio in the US. The end result is what we all know as the Diablo. BTW, Audi has proved himself as an outstanding owner I think.

Donckerwolcke is a brilliant designer I think. Anyone who calls the Murciélago understated either hasn't seen one in real life or makes absolutely no sense to me.
It's hard to choose between the Diablo and Murciélago, they're both so special. I love the overall design of the Diablo and the same goes for the Murciélago plus all the styling cues of Lamborghini past in the design. I'm glad the Canto project was cancelled because, frankly, it looks horrible. However outrageous it may look, I don't agree it would fit the Lamborghini profile. Simply because Lamborghinis doesn't have a history of badly styled cars.

Just made my mind up, I vote for the Murciélago.

That's exactly what i tried to say above, i think the Canto would have been a mistake because really too much. Think about the Miura, well proportionned and look at the Canto, disproportionned ...
