Seems that he is a better football player than driver ... and maybe an asshole too :?

Sounds like he was trying to show off to me...which he probably now regrets.

^^ Just a shame that only a beautiful Ferrari had to pay the price for that...

OMG poor car..

but now I will laugh at him for saying this

"Last night Wright, 40, blamed the supercar’s traction control system.
He said: “Any Ferrari driver knows that when you turn the ASR off you’re dancing with the Devil."

silly muppet should learn to drive..

 nooo, you know it's TC fault

Thats the trouble with those dam things...they give you way to much confidence IMO and make you think you are a really good driver....then you turn it off for some extra excitement...and BAM its all over in two seconds.

1. there's no way you could do that sort of damage to a 360 at 30mph - the bloke was without doubt speeding.

2. he blames the traction control, but says that it was switched off (eh?!, What??)

3. if its a 30mph zone, then what reason could there be to switch off the tc? (ok, i got it, burnouts, doughnuts etc etc - no wonder he stuffed it).

4. luckily, the car will live to see another day i expect. if its worth 120k (ok, sun is being a little overoptimistic, more like 100-110) then you're looking at repairs of up to 50k easily making financial sense, so it will be repaired. Friend of mine who span his 360 coupe against some armco managed to do 45k worth of damage - car was off the road for 6 months but was repaired (almost) good as new.

The guy does come across as an idiot though..

02p etc.

Exactly. Because he had it off is the reason he is saying he crashed. As far as he is concerned, if he had it on, he would of had more control over the car. His attitude leads me to believe he would have crashed either way.

All of us have probably seen the the Top gear episode, when JC and his m8s crash cars at speeds of 30mph. IMO this car was doing much more, there is no way aluminium would crease so easily at the claimed velocity. Asshole.

I used to like him as a football player though...he still holds the record for the most goals scored for Arsenal in it's over 100 year history.

And the thing is, there will be no investigation? It pays to be a famous sports figure I guess. That damage is not indicative of a 30 mph collision. 60 maybe.

Now football players think they are F1 drivers just because they have supercars?????, common, the only one who pays here is the Ferrari, and thats a shame!! :(

"may face a fine of more than £1,000 after cops found an out-of-date tax disc on the car."

what does that mean?

This proves only one thing. Quite a few ppl could afford to buy a Ferrari, but very few would really know how to drive them properly. Track days would help.

I.e most football players and celebrities.....

I think they should stick to what they get payed for rather than trying to drive cars that are unndoubtedly beyond the capabilities of them... wrighty needs a good kicking thats all i can say ;)

The way I see it it's better for these guys to buy supercars and (attempt to) drive them, than some fat old men that'll keep them locked away forever.

I think they need to make a new driving test for Sport people, expect for motor sports people.

"may face a fine of more than £1,000 after cops found an out-of-date tax disc on the car."

what does that mean?

To be legal, every car on the road in the uk needs to display a "disc" on the windscreen that proves you've paid your annual road tax (£160). Failure to display a valid mean's he'll be fined.

poor ferrari-- that almost makes me think that ol maranello should not have any in the future, so its drivers respect the car that much more... rather then being an overconfident bloke

i gotta get some pics of my buddys dad 360 Spider. Its the gergiono blue color. He had a Modena in black, but got rid of it for the spider because "it wasnt as fun"

LOL...

Why is it that some people instantly think he's an asshole because he crashed a 360 Spider ?

He drove too fast (stupid) and he turned the traction control off (very stupid).
But does that make him an asshole ? I'm pretty sure he didn't crash the car on purpose, let alone he doesn't feel bad about it. Besides, more than half of you guys have probably also been speeding in your life. Don't be so hypocrite...

Some of you show pure envy. Pretty sad actually...

God ... he could have given it to me instead of crashing it ...

Belgian football player M Penza crashed one the day he got it ... it lasted 35 minutes !

when you are a good driver, even with TC or not it´s not a trouble. ...when you aren´t...just drive with TC, please

this man is fucking bad...bad driver =/

drifting or oversteer is for those who are got in used, and not to that curious people. :?
