I had a strange thing happen to me the other day... but I'll start from the beginning of the story. Back in October or November of last year, I was at work when some idiot decided it would be a good idea to go up to my bike, cut my lock, and take off with it. I was really pissed because ive never had anything stolen from me that was of real value until then. I also had to walk back and forth to work, which took about 4x longer than biking. Then, yesterday when i was at work, i went out for a lunch break at Subway... and low and behold, locked up to the bike rack, what should it be!?! MY BIKE!!! I walked up to it for closer inspection. It still had the glue left on the chrome from the stickers i removed, and it still had the 2 stickers i had yet to remove before it was stolen. On the bottom, it still had part of the bar-code used by police for identification, but most of it was missing. It also had the brake pads/same rear tire from when it was taken that were unique to the bike... So I go back to work, and go into the office where the managers were sitting. I tell them that i'd found my bike, and im pretty good friends with them, so they get all pissed off and come down to subway with me in my car. We sat there for my entire break waiting for the guy to come out for his bike, but no luck... We couldnt just leave the store by itself, so we all went back. I looked for some bolt cutters or a hack saw, but there were none. Then I realized that the idiot who stole it had put his U-lock around the front tire  , and not the frame. I also knew that my pegs on my bike were threaded and didnt have the nut inside of them, so i grabbed an adjustable wrench, went down there, and took back what was rightfully mine. Unfortunately, my front tire was still locked up, so I had to leave it behind (when i went back later that night with the proper equipment, it was gone)... but I got the majority of my bike back. Now my manager is going to try to find out who had the bike, because he says that he sees it locked up there all the time, but until then I still have no idea who originally took it. The best part was, about 5 minutes after i took the bike, it started STORMING HARDCORE for the rest of the night. I hope the little rat bastard who stole it had to walk home  Just thought it was an interesting story to share with you, does anyone have any similar experiences... or recomendations on finding my front wheel?

and about ur bike if i were u i woudnt care about the tire, theyr not that expensive, but i would 4 the guy! look 4 him in that place or something but u gotta find him!

Yeah, thats the only thing i was worried about was that some poor guy bought the bike stolen, and then i 'stole' it from him... we're gunna go around sayin we 'saw' someone steal it... then we'll find out who owned it, and we can find out if he bought it, and if he did, then we can find out who he got it from... sooner or later it'll lead to the thief. The police are pretty useless in this situation... my friend's bike got stolen, and he figgured out who did it, and saw it thru a window. it was in the guy's garage, but the police said that unless they had some video evidence or something similar of the guy actually stealing it, there was nothing they could do. That made him so pissed off. They also wrote down his info just incase he beat the guy up who took the bike, so he was powerless and didnt end up getting the bike back... so i didnt even bother to call them in this case.

Even tho when ya buy a bike or anything "used", you'r supposed to check the serials or something... in any case that guy is guilty. Hope your bike wasnt too much abused either :?

jon_s only wished he could say the same for his old bike. :( I guess the story did make him feel better. Now if I could just find my stolen watch....I would kick the shit out of the person who stole it! :fist:

I had my motor bike stolen .. It was an 80 XR Honda and it looked exactly like the one in the pix below. Anyway after few month my brother and I saw the bike in our area with some guy just flying with it.. We tryed to chance him but no luck.. we noticed he was showing off to a bunch of guys standing so we went to them and my older brother gave them a bit of a hard talk and said that he will call the police and stuff like that. The next morning we saw the bike infront of our house.. lol..But the bike was in a bad shape.. My father just took it from me and sold it the following week.. From that day until recently I never been on a bike.. By the way I was about 14 years old when that happened. Now I Own a banshee.. I will kick any body's ass if they even tried to get their ass near it..
