THE best sounding (road) car is.....

Obviously this is a personal preference but was just interested on your views. I know a lot of cars sound good, but which are the cars that make give you goosepimples, the ones that send a shiver done your spine when you hear them on full song...

In my opinion, the Ferrari 360 does it for me. It sound is totally unique (except from maybe the 355) and having been in one, that V8 screaming right behind your head is one of the best feelings ever.... How about you guys???

1 word: hemi! Think of vocal chords spent by years of alcoholism and tabaco abuse. It's 1 mean grunt at idle. Harleys rumble beautifuly too... For a present day stock car, i'd choose the TVR Speed 12.

in agreement with the cobra, CGT and zonda definately ;) Not with the hemi, its jus a low rumble, too bland, too common and not very exciting. Not saying that its not a good sound, just dosent really give me those goose pimples. Im quite liking the MB SL55 amg and SLR for their low grumbling rumbles, not a big fan of forced induction engines though...

For me, the best sound of a car is.....one im a big enthusiast of a turbo engine.......my favourite sound is the sound of a proper tunned Escort Cosworth with a GrN exhaust..then i like the sound of the merc SLR as well

And finally....from any non supercharged engine.....I love the sound of the current M5 as well as the M3 E-30s engine with GrN exhaust system as well

I'd say the SLR, McLaren F1 or the Zonda. But I saw this Mustang that made one really damn nice sound. Modded obviously, but still very nice. Also, anything with Tubi style exhaust sounds nice.

For me, the best sounding cars are the ones that manages to combine low volume and a muscular sound. The SLR or any TVR sounds great, but you can't drive them home late at night without waking up your neighbors. The Vanquish, DB9 and the SL55 AMG sounds great, but are civilized if you don't push them. They are my winners!

Bugatti Veyron does completely, amazingly awesome noise-like not one, but two starting jets and a bunch normal sportscars together!
It's the most beautiful car noise I've ever heard.

The 250 GTO sounds very similar to the 275. I think the 275 just has a little bit more 'substance'
The BRM is probably the most amazing 1.5 liter engine sound you will EVER hear!
