I can swear on my life that this looks exactly the way i would think if you put a gt40 and a gt1 together. Its some french that was made from 95-96, and its called the VBM 4000 GTR. Pretty weird if you ask me.

I've never seen it before but yet i have a strange feeling of deja vu....
The great part is that since Ford no longer owns the name GT40... these guys could very use it.. :) -- wouldn't that be a "last laugh" at Ford for not paying up to buy back the name... ;)

No, it's called the Ford GT. They couldn't buy the GT40 trademark back.
"Just as with many classic sportscars, several companies made replicas of the GT40 - of varying quality. One of the best such companies was Safir Engineering, which bought the rights to the name "GT40" in 1985, and built cars until 1999 with chassis numbers continuing the sequence where the original Ford cars stopped."
BTW, I found the spec for the VBM at http://gtfrance.free.fr/historique_vbm.html
- poids 1050 kg

Ford refused to pay the rumoured $40 million for name GT40.

I have read about this too. It is funny though because when I went to the Miami International auto show, I talked to the Ford representative and I asked him about it because they had the car there. He said it is not called the GT40 because it is not 40 inches tall anymore, it is 43 inches I think he said. I wonder why he would lie about that. I know its not 40 inches tall anymore, but I still believe the thing about Ford not paying up.
