Didnt Top Gear show a brief cameo of the S class in the May 9 episode?

That's nice. I'm happy they went for the maybach rear lights.
I can see where their design scheme is headed... but I don't think it suits the M-class.

Its seems that merc is going to keep on with similar patterns to the current S-class, on the other hand im looking forward to seeing the new 7 series BMW, which for me is going to be more difficult(i think that this is not a difficult achievement),once i see the current car very hideous, and a big failure as well

I am really looking forward to what the finish product will be like.
I'm sure all the engineering and technological gadgets will be mind blowing!!

have you ever gotten to ride in or drive one? i have done both and that car is awesome. its quite possibly one of the few cars where the passengers in the back have just as much/if not more leg room than the people in the front!
and just all the little attention to detail make it an awesome car.

Have ridden / driven most every MB model in modern production history (dating back from the 70s). Have driven Gullwings, etc.
Like I said...boring barge.

Blow it away? Yeah...with the crap interior, or the piss poor handling? Or the fact that you fall asleep at the wheel at 160 mph because you're bored? Oh, and in a straight line...keep dreaming. :D
funny how you're comparing rotten apples that came out now to a ferrari that came out in '97. :)

Speedkillar: I know you're way biased for MB, but have you ever driven any of the cars you're referring to? I'm curious, because (and I don't mean to be critical, just honest), it seems as if you're guilty of what 99.99% of car forum members are: bench racing. No first hand experience...

Crappy interior, right, you're driven the italian car here, and I remember your steeringweel had some nasty blobs on it.

It seems you're also way biased for Ferrari  ,don't you think before you wright something down :?
And yes, I have driven AMG models(sadly not the new one...yet), thats where I got my passion for MB, and I've also driven M models.
Whats your point
But, I have to agree, I've never driven a ferrari, and I would like to.
Maybe you should invite me and let me have a go at the beast :D

Amanthapar: yes. Read above.
Speedkillar: whenever you're in town, you're more than welcome to drive my car.
Explain the bias here. The only category in which a Brabus (no AMG car I've driven so far can out accelerate the 550. And that includes the latest ones, save the CL65) powerd vehicle will beat i tout is straight line acceleration. However, if you look at the CdA, then it's obvious that given the same powerplant (no Mb comes stock with a 700bhp 7.4l V12) or comparable, there's no way the MB can keep up.
It's totally apples vs. oranges.

I know, my previous post explained that it will blow your car away(in a straight line), but of course on a track its different.
And I'll keep in mind your offer, thanks :D
Well...
Not as radical as new 7 series!
I suppose the Merc goes in the moderate way
