I just read a few articles on the England captain, the untouchable and I think his a prim Dona. He kept saying that England could win the Euro (I think they could) but what did he do to help??
Shouldn’t he be on the bench??

This was taken from a portuguese article.

David Beckham: millionaire, talented, ace ... Qualities of a "galactico" that it was not in Portugal. Was he? We did not see him! Taking off long balls and free kicks, the spice boy passed aside of the Euro. He said endless times that England was candidate to the Euro, but made little to help. In the games where it played, and he played in all, the Madrid player material did not pass the mediocre and, at the times, nor it arrived there. Never played for the team and never got involved in the offensive play of the team. Was Beckham in a desert?

Against Portugal, fail he failed again. Both in the game and in penalties. Perhaps Ricardo threatened him, agony said it crosswise and the Englishman shoot half the sand and half the ball. It left his foot without the usual refinement, finess, elegance, without the usual class of his right foot, to the crowd. Such an ugly movement that didn’t look like his. The blame can go to the penalty spot, accordantly to the English, but it was the same for both teams.
This time we can’t really say that the spot felt on the best dress.

Beckham is a great player, but I think he has too much pressure on him lately and the expectations of him are too high.

He is just a great player with great skill but people expect him to be godlike. Well he is just a regular guy who has his bad times and his set of bad luck.

He is very cocky...and is a prima for sure.....more concerned about his hair then soccer on most occasions.

Thats what the media wants you to believe.

His hair is probably under constant influence of his HOT wife.

I think he "carried" most of the match on his shoulders yesterday and gave several occasions to score. He shows that he is not undividual but can share the ball with his team-mates and its the mark of a great champion ...
The floor was disastrous around the penalty point and he was the first to shoot, that's why he missed his penalty.
I am happy that the France didn't have to play against Portugal because it would have been hot for us !!

The easyest thing is to criticize, thats the only thing what newspapers and Co. do :x
Fat, ignorant journalists who never shot a goal sitting in his fukin chair and telling us how the things are

LOL@how everybody in the media is bitching on Beckham. Rui Costa f.e. fucked his penalty up as well, I hear NOBODY about that.

They just need somebody to blame...

Noboby said anything about Rui Costa cos his not as famous as Beckham.
And Rui did score before and what a goal.
I love watching Rui play but his not at his best so the coach did what he had to do.
Maybe Ericsson should do the same next time.

LMAO :D

He's a great player, with a magnificent ball control. Unfortunately he didn't play at his best at the championships.

Don't know what was wrong with the penalty mark, but it seemed to me that he destryoed it with the first kick and that the other players were repairing it each time they went to take their kick. :D

BS. Rui Costa is almost just as famous as Beckham, and apart from a fucked up penalty (look closely how the ball already moved before shooting) he played a more than decent tournament. Can't bvelieve hwo everybody is blaming Beckham for this defeat...

Well, I'm just surprised that Ericsson chose Beckam to take the first penalty. After the miss when playing against France he must have been really stressed.

Funny how the best penalty was executed by the Portugese "goally".

i was lookin though a paper and saw a article on the stress that beckham has been put though over the last year or so. i mean the top few things that are sposed to agrivate stress are moving house (spain) troubles in marrage (media always having a dig at him plus victoria not wanting to go to spain) and a bad time at work (the whole incident with man u manager and being with madrid during one of there worst seasons ever). also with this new defeat at euro 2004 could it put him off playing again? just wondered maybe we should back off him a bit? ah well.
i was well pissed about england goin out of euro though.
just my opinion cheers.

beckham is definitely a great player. the press loves to criticize hime because he is a high-profile player. and that is the pitfall for being famous.

chipanggo! how are ya brother! ur from the the philippines?? u glad or mad a well educated person won the election? i'm glad cuz she seems no nonsense.

anyways, to not hijack this thread, i will say that i dont keep up with soccer and that i only know beckham cuz of the movie named after him. i dont feel sorry at his misforgivings since he chose to be an athlete. plus the fact that he has been caught cheating on ol' posh makes him a target, but eh, people love adulterous men. look at bill clinton as an example.

I think Beckham is goin down, he didnt play as he usually does in the Eurocup, he is a great player, but what I think is that he is not totally concentrated with all the scandals he has been throug, also the press says he is having trouble with his wife, he didnt do well in this Eurocup, but I still believe he is a great player...
