The email war is on now.
A few weeks ago yahoo announced that the email space was now 100MB.
Today Hotmail have announced that there email accounts will have 250MB free. :D

Like that and because there are allot of people that use Messenger’s everyone will be happy.

The only downside is that this will only start to operate sometime in the summer. :(

I heard the mail from Google will have something in the region of 1 GB of storage space. These people are crazy. Who the fuck needs that much e-mail storage space? :|

Good Point.... i don't use the email on MSN... just messenger.

I use a mobile phone network email account. No spam, 10MB of space, free, text alerts... :D

When my inbox get's full i save them in outlook and delete the crappy ones

ive pretty much backed up all useful emails in the last 7 years and still its only at 70MB, itll take me anout 14 yrs to accumalte just a tad over 200MB.

however work email goes upto about 800MB. i remember when i worked as a network admin, the MD had a 10GB inbox. prolly all porn as well

so depending on who uses it, 250MB may not be enough

I also heard that... but then, Google will send you 50 or more mails of spam and publicity every day.

I can confirm the existance of Google mail (gmail) .... but currently it is by invite only to ppl who have submit their email and show interest. And no, it does not get spams every day. I had it for 1 week now, spam count = 0.

PS. Please don't ask me to send u a email just for proof, I don't wanna waste such a good email account.

Great :D I was about to switch to Yahoo. I don´t think I will use all that storage space but at least I´ll be able to send bigger attachments

When is GMail coming out to the public and will it be free? If it is free that would be kick ass. I would rather have overkill with storage space than not enough. Also I hate hotmail, too much junk mail.

I would think that, given time; both services would get flooded with spam. And as most people certainly know, Hotmail is the choice of spammers for sending spam of all sorts. I finally had to get rid of mine after I was getting way more porn spam than regular messages. I now use Lycos for my secondary e-mail account, the only thing now is that recently they have added pop ups but that can be easily combatted.

the e-mail wars has begun. and the winner is...the users. the more competition between, the better service they will provide us.

^^^exactly. i'm willing to bet that this email war will eventually result in me being able to back up my entire wimpy hard drive on one email account :D

way to go! more space, bigger viruses, bigger files, more people using their servers to dowload files, more "too busy" messages! WOW just what we needed.

Well...The only thing I concern is that weather they came up with some effective methods to deal with those junck mail.....

spam..spam...spam...I'm fed up with that!

ok, am i the only person here that DOESENT get spam in there hotmail acount.
personaly i cannnot wait for 250meg, i will no longer need to keep emptying out my fucking e-mails (that i do go back and referance on) so they can acumulate.

for evreyone that is getting spam, treat you're e-mail adress like you're penis..

if u where to stick it somewhere dirty you would get bad consequences, but not to stick it anywhere.. imo=no spam :) (hope that made sence!)

250mb sounds good, but we have to wait till it is available. I am sure that more trafic will result in less email uptime. Besides that, we have to see if we are allowed to send files larger than 5mb. Hotmail likes limiting people. Currently, you cant send something bigger than 1mb or something around that number.

I believe Hotmail 'Premium' (Paid) members will have their accounts upgraded to 2GB mail with max 20MB in attachments.
