This bi-vanos engine will be the baseline for the 6-series, both convertible & coupe.
It will be replacing the old 3.0L 6-cylinder engines in all models.
It gives the 6-series a 0-100kph in 6.5 seconds. (6.7 for the auto tranny).

The engine will deliver 258HP wich means about 85HP/Liter and that is very high for a normal production car.
Maximum torque is available as off 2500rpm and peaks there at 300Nm.

The 3.0L engine needed this upgrade to be able to deal with BMW's dieselpower from the 3.0d.

I can“t wait till it makes it way into the 330 and 530 8)

I think it has variable valve timing at both the exhaust and intake valves

86bhp/liter...... It sounds like a supercar....!!!

I hope they will replace all the current 3.0 BMW engines with this one :!:

Bi- vanos pilots camshafts for intake and exhaust. valvetronic pilots the lift of the valve. this allows tou to have both torque at low reimes and power high in the revs
