hey guys

i saw on fifth gear this guy bought suchmis f2001 ferrari

the car is slightly detuned to give longer life but these are its race figures
check out these stats..

0-60mph 2.5 secs.
0-100mph under 3.4 secs
power 700-800bhp...

the f2003 had 930bhp, the f2004 could have close to 950bhp...
so that means the f2004 can have an accleration of about 2 secs to 60mph and a 0-100mph of abt 3 secs...
and 0-1/4 mile.... around 8 secs !!!! omg...

but they didnt say how much it costed :(

Try over $1MM.

Actually, modern F1 cars are a relative bargain compared to their vintage counterparts.

Yep... but oprobably £1-2 GBP.

He gets full technical support etc... there was an article in last months Car Magazine - i think it will be in the scans section soon :D
He also has a CGT, DB9, 911 Turbo, 360 Spider Masser MC12 (on order) etc...

He is a really rich guy, and loves his cars. Good for him 8)

He has some T&Cs to adhere to though, like no changing sponsors on the car, he must take it around the world for Ferrari to different meets ( i don't think he pays the costs, but it has to be available to Ferrari 365days a year)

I say it is a great buy, but you need a lot of money to do this, and, of course, he will never be a good enough driver to drive the car at it's limits... a bit like all the gear, but no idea :P

He also has to return it anytime they want to show it if you didn't notice.

Yeah, it is sorta unfair, but how often would Ferrari want the car anyway? I wonder if they will ever disclose the cost. The article in Car was exactly the same as the 5th Gear production. (no wonder, Tom Ford wrote it.)

yes but ppl do whatever do get the best Ferraris , remember the F50 was loaned to you for 2 years , then the car can be yours , i read that the Enzo is the same , when you get it the car has to stay in the Showroom for some days , then loaned to put in the local motorshow and bla bla

If that is right we might have our Enzo in the Santiago Motorshow in October !!!

I'm sure we all knew it was on 5th Gear

Franks also raced (or entered a car) at LeMans i think... in the article in CAR magazine it said he had to fly off to get to LeMans qualifying 8)

Can we get a link to this article or a scan of it? I figure it must have cost at least 2 Million USD.

Well, no official numbers were given from each party for obvious reasons

For the scan, i believe noosee is the scanning king of CAR magazine, but i may be able to upload it later (don't have a scanner, but a good digicam)
