unfortunately these behaviors are well known, practiced and have lots of publicity. I say this because I'm not a real catholic person. As many ppl here (young, with some and high education) I have my doubts about religion, etc.

We laugh when we see these ways of thinking, but we can't be judges at these ppl. Maybe our way of thinking (cars are one the best things in the world, auto races, etc) are laughable to other ppl.

yes, those are most of the catholic, christian, etc points of view, just talk some minutes with a father, priest, etc. and they'll tell you those are the church's points of view. Maybe you'll find a priest that is a more open minded kind and tolerates some of the youngsters ways

Yeah I went to Catholic school from Kindergarten all the way to my Senior year I know about the Churches views and these aren't theirs on these topics, they took the Churches law on them (Catechism - Churches book of laws larger than the Bible) and amplified them many times over the Church could car less about what music you listen to as long as it doesn't actually affect your actions. They don't care if your a homosexual as long as you don't have sex. Drinking is fine within the Church hell you drink wine in services. Birth Control and Abortion are allowed in the Church if you have permission from your priest because in certain cases it is necessary for the mother to have an abortion to save her own life and some women take birth control for health issues rather than prevention of impregnation. Pornography really isn't even that big of an issue within the church yes they frown upon it but they know people will look at it period so they just say don't let it take over your life. Now lying in bed with your parents as a teenager (I'm assuming) reading the Bible is alittle wrong in my opinion unless they are mormons inwhich it's normal. This has got to have been done by Mormons who else?

I went to catholic, and a Christian Baptist school. funny thing, the catholics bitched about the jews, and the baptist bitched about the catholic, so i just decided to not have organised religion in my life anymore.

well I never really had that at my schools in High School we had to take World Religion courses so that we would be knowladgeable about the other religions and the Jews are usually the more uptite ones out of the bunch. Baptitsts are a little funny if you go to one of their southern baptist churches and you are used to Catholic services. Catholics are probably the most laid back of all the major religions. The minor ones are even more laid back like the Unitarians or someothers.

im catholic, not devote, but I still claim it. I have people on campus (which is about (70% baptist) come to give me there "testimony" all the time. they always start with, "hey man, how are you??? can i talk to you for a second?" no one is that nice, you don't just walk up to folks and want to tell them your life story. for months i couldn't figure out a nice way to tell them i didn't care, however i have figured it out. I just tell em I'm catholic, they run the other way!
