I've been tuning in every once in awhile on Speed they had a ton of action all in the first few hours like 3 or 4 cars all had major damage and all between 3-5 miles from pit and had to limp back extremely slow. sadly at the moment they are showing Arca racing. for the next 20 min.

erm im watching, its fukin almost 5oclock in hte morning and i got up @ 8am yesterday...still its worth it, i love le mans, and its definately an interesting race this year, lotsa trouble for just about evry1. Racing for Holland is having alot of bad luck but it keeps fighting...Also the Corvettes have had some bad luck too, with a bit of luck the Ferraris will stay ahead of em/take em over.
I'm hoping for some bad luck for the Audi's, cos i dont like em and it makes the race more exciting

well there are a few Ferrari's sitting in the garages right now so that doesn't seem to be helping and they just had to change one of the Audi cars out no too long ago.

yeah...and its getting light again, also here in holland, gonna give nice pictures of cars in the low sun....Also did u c the fire on the Ferrari's brake? that was some serious fire :D
T-Bird
06-12-2004, 11:01 PM
yeah and now they are having a hell of a time fixing it and it's not the first Ferrari that's haad brake trouble so far and only half way, it doesn't look too hopeful at the moment for a few of their cars. Porsche seems to be doing fairly well at the moment.
gucom
06-12-2004, 11:06 PM
lol u wanna bet Porsche is gonna win the GT class? ill bet for $1000 it does :D
And yes you're right, we've just had 13 of 24 hours, so plenty of time for accidents to happen, and rankings to get mixed up :D

On Radio Lemans they just said that Audi might have a Diesel engine in their cars for next year! and there is talk about a DB9 and Mazda coming back. I'm not stupid enough to take that bet.

DAMN Racing for Holland seems to have a gearbox problem :( :( man im so sad
theyve been having SO MUCH bad luck...and they were at place 9 :(

06-12-2004, 11:18 PM
Ohwell aren't they the team that changed to a different class this season with that black and white car? OOOhh!! they fucked up when they fixed the Tranny before so they have to do it again. j/k
T-Bird
06-12-2004, 11:22 PM
they just confirmed what that guy on the phone said is very possibly going to happen and Aston Martin IS going to race a DB9
gucom
06-12-2004, 11:22 PM
lol they were always in LMP900/LMP1 already, they didnt change class. It is the chessboard car indeed, and the gearbox changing stuff was a marshal fuckup
T-Bird
06-12-2004, 11:23 PM
well they just went back into the garage again.
And 61 ferrari is still in the garage with those damned brakes.

lol the Gerard Welter WR is still in the list, having lapped an incredibly 77 laps, about a 3rd of the race leaders
gucom
06-13-2004, 12:31 AM
i just counted, and of the 36 officially still in hte race, there are 3 LMP2. Must be a very reliable class
nah its caused by the class changes, all the LMP675 cars that stood a chance of success have been added to the LMP1 class, at the same time leavign the LMP2 class with only cars that lack budget, and those former LMP675 cars that became LMP1 stand very little chance also cos they're just slower than the big LMP1's, that used to be LMP 900. Well done ACO!

anyone notice how much Gran Turismo Advertisement there is at the race this year? there's atleast 2 cars I've seen and signs everywhere maybe it's more ready than we all thought or they really are some cheaky bastards with all their teasing. (And it DOESN'T say Prologue or any of that crap)
gucom
06-13-2004, 01:10 AM
hmmm there's been Gran Turismo ads on the walls in the chicanes at least since 2002, possibly much longer already. I dont know if there were already cars featuring GT ads. Anyway lets jsut hope GT4 will b released soon, so that they can remove the bloody chicanes
T-Bird
06-13-2004, 01:12 AM
I saw a sony car that had GT4 on the fenders and rear wing and a Playstation one that had the same thing and on the sides but the new signs say Gran Turismo 4 not just Gran Turismo (atleast some of them)
Thay're interviewing a driver that has GT4 on his suit right now.

For those who remember the last series 5thGear episode in which someone bought an ex Michael Schumacher Formula One Ferrari, if my memory serves me correctly, it was Episode 6 from Series 5.
He, Frank Montain, is the owner of Cirtek Motorsport which has entered the #92 Ferrari 360 in the 2004 edition. He's also one of the drivers and his team is currently (10:45 hrs CET) driving in 20th position with 243 laps on their tally. Just 8 laps behind Colin McRae cs.

im back, ive had breakfast and relaxed for awhile, my eyes had turned TOTALLY red of watching pc and TV for some 18 hours in a row.
Porsches still going strong :) Racing for Holland 10th and 15th :? and the leading Ferrari with a flat tyre, so that gives plenty of surprises for GTS class

lol i wanted Ferrari to win, but alas. Racing for Holland came in 7th and 17th, they deserved better after all they had to go through. I believe the TVR's actually both lasted throughout the entire race  lol. I just hope next year will be just as exciting, cos 2005 ill be there myself :D already looking forward to it.
Now im pretty sad its all over already, its IMO the greatest motorsports event of the year.

The race was better than last years :) :)
Nice effort by Herbert to catch Ara and a big day for Tom Kristensen.

I only got to catch the beginning and the start of the night racing, but that was one of the most exciting segments so i'm not complaining. Did they ever figure out if it was actually the gravel that was causing all the flats or is that still just speculation?
T-Bird
06-14-2004, 01:06 AM
they pretty much accepted it was the gravel since it was everywhere in the pits when they changed tires

Cant believe how dominant Audi have been in the past 6 yrs in LeMans....thats a 1-2-3 finish for them....HECTIC..!! They are like the Ferrari in Formula 1
also oil was there at first. but then people spun out from the oil, and when they came back on track they brought gravel with them.

Just arrived back from lemans 2day, and WE FINISHED!!!!!!!! The morgan survived!!!!
Unfortunately a 2-3 hour stoppage out in the back section due to fuel starvation meant our race was more or less over at 2 am, but neil cunningham managed to syphon some fuel through and limp back to the pits.
Then the car began to have cooling problems, and resulted in regular stoppages to top up the system.
But we got the car through, and the team got the award for best team, as they worked fuckin hard, and it is rightfully theirs.
All the drivers were superb, the car didnt touch the gravel trap once in the whole 24hrs and it was purely bad luck and mechanical problems that set us back.
A big thanks to all involved in the morgan effort, i enjoyed every second.
EDIT: Piccis!! :D

Oh, and if any of the brits caught all the ITV coverage, the girls in the blue skirts on the morgan on the grid are all me mates, and i was stood behind the wall (i aint pretty enough for the camera!!)!!
Oh and robby coltrane popped into the morgan garage to congratulate the team on their efforts at the end, which was a nice surprise!
Beware to all, LEMANS is addictive, if u go once ur gunna have to go back! I certainly am!! :D

My dad recorded it for me, and i watched it over today, there was a nice little section on the british manufacturers TVR and Morgan, but i was very dissapointed at the fact that ITV missed the WHOLE lead up! There was 2 hours of girls and interviews on the grid and the only bit they managed to show was 1 fuckin interview with johnny herbert and Mcnish.
Oh well, the morgan attempt went pretty well, would have nice to been classified, but next year, hopefully with a majour sponsor! we shall be back, and better than ever! We're gunna get those porsches!
