why the hell would they want to replace it already with an exact copy of the 612?

I think it looks much too similar to the 612, but then again that was probably just a test mule using the 612 as a base (I hope so anyway)

looks like the 612 to me, and i bet the pic is old. i dont think its even worth investigating. ferrari dont detune(engine capacity neways) road car engines to build in future models. nice try tho carmineroma

Hey guys, just so there'll be no problems: the photo is (as you have probably noticed) copyrighted, publishig it on the web is not free ... Car connection had to buy it from the photographer and it's not cheap!

As you can read on the article, this is just a shortened 612 used as an early mule.. to early to tell the final look.. as always spy pics, especially early ones are useless :D

It should be a fine looking car in the end anyways... I just long for the first real pics...

WEll actuallyt in the 612 , the 6 stands for 6 litre , the 12 for 12 cylinders , not 6.12 liter engine

For some reason, the front reminds me of a Porsche...

I think it's ugly as all hell. They need to do some major tweaking before that thing really takes form. I think the 612 is just "ok" looking, but this is downright ugly. Sorry Ferrari!

The back half looks like it was taken from an XKR and the front bonnet and lights are from a porsche with a shrunken Aston Martin grille. Looks like shit IMO

We had "that" kind of problems on one of forums here where I'm a moderator (but not car related). A photographer wanted to sue for compensation (still haven found out how he knew about the pic, it was a small, closed forum, he wasnt a member ...). When we checked the laws on copyright etc we found out that clearly marking the source is not enough except when you publish a photo, reprint etc ... to show what someone else had published. If you just publish a photo to show what's on it (i.e. the car) the copyright owner can sue ...
Luckiliy in our case the photographer calmed down when he fund that it was just a smal forum of enthusiasts ...

Ah sure every now and then there are such overreacting persons.. but not a bid deal at all since in that case the copyright is in the middle of the picture, the pitcure itself is just hotlinked from the original source and if they really wanted to prevent that, it's easy to block remote linking.. so, no problem at all in this case.

This is not what the 575 replacement looks like, as others have said, this is the mule car.

If you guys want to see somethign really special, wait til August at Pebble Beach here in California. Ferrari will be unveiling something very slick... I already have my order down, as it's everything I wanted in a daily driver!

What's the point with pointing out differences with the design when it's just the looks of the 612 and the inside of a new ferrari put together to test the new car?
