Very nice collection gis that's the HotWheels GT3 correct? I found it for $15 US do you think it's worth paying that? I want the new wing design one or I'd get the Autoart version (I know that's worth the money). I think I've got to get that GT2 also Autoart right?
i can highly recommend the autoart GT2.really if its there and your goin to buy a model.BUY IT coz its really nice.
about my GT3.well yes its hot wheels and yes for £20 that i paid it was worth it but at the same time i can honestly say if i was there and there was an autoart GT3 instead i would have bought the autoart version.

How much was the Supra? it looks perfect!!! but the Porsche's are a little too small for me i heard they were smaller than 1/18 and i prefer 1/18
T-Bird
06-12-2004, 10:02 PM
the Porsche's seem to be to scale to all the other 1/18's atleast from AutoArt they are a company I would trust.
lol well no the porsches arent smaller than any other 1:18 model.perfect IMO
the supra........well this was a challenge to get and as im sure most of you fellow model collectors know that the Kyosho toyota supra is a rare model to get now as it went out of production a few years back.so to buy one e-bay was the only real way to get one BUT knowing its rare + e-bay = high price lol
now luckily witht he help of a old JW member who has gone missing now called JN396 he did the bidding for me and we followed it for days and luckily there was 4 other toyota supra models bein bid on at the time.and the one i was bidding on was the cheapest so far and obviously people kept it as if they werent bothered about that auction and was waiting for a surprise attack in the last seconds and we won,lol
i won the model at $165 then there was postage from the seller of $25 and then when the model arrived at my door we had custom tax to pay of £35 so (whatever £35 GBP is in dollers) the final price of getting the model into my possesion was well over $230 :D
sorry for the long story but thats how i got it and now u can all call me crazy, lol

that is a bit pricey but Kyosho are high quality and they now make cars in partnership with HotWheels on some Ferrari's I've seen older ones though. Next time I go to the local shop I'll take a pic, It's been there for a while.
  ... LoooL. I know the supra means a lot to you I was just playing with you.. .. Yeah as Gis said the Supra is very rare.. But I am lucky to have one.. I got one from Malaysia by chance when I went for a vication their last year.. Mine is red.. I'm going to post pic of my collection latter .. I am just to lazy to do so now.

gis, I remember you want a Ferrari F50 too, right? Tamiya has just introduced an excellent one. Fear not, it's not a kit as you know it. It's all painted (metal body) and for the most part assembled, you only have to bolt the wheels on and attach the roll bars (or roof), bonnet and engine cover. They did this because Tamiya is not allowed to offer ready-builts because of legal matters. They worked around this with this semi-assembled 'kit', which can be completed by a noob even.
I have seen pictures of it and the level of detail is up to usual Tamiya standards. It's in yellow (which suits the car brilliantly) and is in scale 1:12 (I know that's not a problem for you  ). One thing I don't know, the price... You should really look into this!
EDIT: The pictures I saw were of a yellow one, but I found out that it's also available in red. After a long search I finally found a webpage on the model... Here it is. (http://www.tamiya.com/english/products/23203f50/index.htm)
There are a couple of 1:12 F50s here... and it costs into the 233 € here

€230 is pretty steep... I was afraid of something like that.
I'm not around much on MSN, you're right. When I have to choose between spending my time here or on MSN, I still prefer JW. Nice to hear you missed me though. :D
ok one of the things i did whilst i was away for 2 weeks witht he dam internet bein down was go and buy a few 1/18 models,my first models in 6 months.i took a few pics of them so here they are

I'm glade you finally got some new models Danny.. That NSX is amazing.. It's very hard to find them espacilly if it is made by kyosho.. Wish you get more models.. and take them out of the box from time to time..
yeah im glad i got sum new ones.and what a surprise with the NSX.made by the same people as the supra.very nice indeed.there was also quite a few other models there i wanted.but the guy told me he was gettin new models in stock soon from auto art and minichamps,so ill be goin back sson to check them out
Very nice trio!! Especially the NSX of course!! :D but also the CGT in black is damn sexy obviously! Congrats!
the NSX is really nice.nice interior just like the supra,i was so shocked to see it at the shop.
the CGT is nice to look at,but when u start lookin at the parts of it closely liek the interior it isnt spectacular.i was really hoping they would be one there from auto art or sumthin.
also when i got there they still had that 1/12 scale ferrari F40 for £300.oh man i love it.im soooo surprised i aint bought that yet.im hoping that it will remain there and they will drop the price gradually and ill pick it up at a cheaper price.lol also that /2 F40 which is fro kyosho they also have a 1/12 scale vanquish and Z4 in the same colour as st-angers real life Z4.i was also told that the shop should be receiving a 1/12 scale lambo murcialago.............drooooooooool
Crazy but also the F40 in "my" shop is still there!!
lol one of us needs to get that model.u know, just out of curiousity for the model :P
but man i sure hope that murcialago will be nice.and i fear sooner or later a 1/12 model will be in my possesion, lol

what company makes the EVO and the M3? im thinking AutoArt but not sure about the EVO! nice Z8 and NSX i think i might need to find a matching CGT to all of the member's CGT's
the EVO is an Auto art and the M3 coupe is a Kyosho.both fantastic quality.the CGT should be the easiest to find out of the lot seen as its only a maisto model, lol which means great looks but when u look around it inside and stuff it isnt exactly....fantastic,lol

theres somethin messed up on that Tamyia 1/12th, first im not sure if the writeing on the tires is that white and bright but im not toos ure about that, what i am 100 percent sure about and really messes the car up is the centre of the wheels. the F50 doesnt have that yellow circle cap kinda thing on the wheels like the Enzo does, but instead the F50 really has like jus the horse like etched in the metal kinda thing and its i think a lil gold, but its metal etched i think on the bolt not that yellow plastic looking thing like on the Enzo, im sure it doesnt look plastic in person but u know what i mean
I think gis was referring to the Kyosho 1:12 ;)

Thanks gis! I think the interior is much better than the other Hw efforts
yeah its ok,not the best though compared to the RX7 i bought its pretty crap.the seats feel real and have carpet in them, but then again, the real F40 hardly had any interior so i cant complain really.
the shop had a whole section of just red ferraris,it was to die for yesterday and also nearly picked up the F50.............THATS MINE NEXT TIME

as i said,if there is a certain pic u would like just let me know :D
The 996TT is just marvellous! Is there a brand offering a C4S or regular Carrera?
i have a Carrera but it was one of the first models i bought and its cheap, horrible and not silver,LOL so i am in the hunt now for a 996 carrera,4 and 4S,i know there is a make that does the carrera,i think its hot wheels but not 100% sure.they had a carrera in the cabinet but it was yellow so i didnt want it.lol
oh they also have the 1:12 lambo murcialago in black in the shop.......was fantastic :D
oh yes forgot to add that, lol
its a simple maisto model.didnt go with a great ammount of money this time so bought the porsche and had enough left over for a cheaper model and this one took my sight and i got it :D
thats the price u pay when u pay half of what an auto art and kyosho are,LOL
The 996TT is just marvellous! Is there a brand offering a C4S or regular Carrera?
Autoart also has a standard Carrera 1/18 scale model, but only Maisto makes the C4S.

Nice new models gis, I love the 996TT.....what did it cost you?
Thanks dingo22.the price tag on the 996TT was £40,the shop i go to has a permanent offer on that if you buy 2 models or more you get them at a cheaper price,so i bought 2 models and the 996TT cost me £36 instead of £40 and the 350Z was £18 instead of £20,so as u can imagine u buy 3 or 4 models ata time and the price is a good one with the ammount knocked off :D
Hey guys,2 new models for me today.and one different to what i usually buy.

I like the 959. I am also trying to find a red 612. You need a GT1 too that would complete that collection nicely.
Nice and clean..
By the way I am doing what you are doing by keeping the model in the box.. They really get dirty after few month's out  ..
thanks for the comments guys :D
owais i told you it was easier keepin them in the box's but the only poblem with it is space gets taken up quickly, lol

Hey Gis just spent around 15mins looking at this thread, and you have an impressive collection of models, its gotta be said. I also like collecting model, but I'm no where near the level your at, with just 10 models.
Im gathering autoart are the better models to go for? most of mine are maisto.
So yeah nice collection, like your pics too :)
Cheers mate.auto art are for sure one of the better brands.along with kyosho and minichamps in 1:18.
Thank you for your kind words.i like my collection a lot.only problem now is space....even if i take them out the box's and place them in a glass cabinet,i still have to store the box's and stands, lol and now with 53 1:18 models....space isnt exactly open to me,lol

I understand where your coming from, I have flat packed my boxs and put them above the wardrobe ,and the stands and platic bits are in a bag somewhere :? For me it started out just buying the cars I like, quality and all that was'nt a issue,so the models I have are all masito around £10-£25, but now I'm getting more into it, I'll have to get abit more advise from you when I go for the more exspensive ones.
I'll take a pic of my collection if you like so you know what I have, but I think you have most of what I have
sure post a pic, start your own topic even, thats what this section is for anyway.
i remember when i first started collecting, the first 2 models i ever got were a maisto vette Z06 and a Pontiac trans am firebird.both were about £20 i think and they were a birthday present from my dad,at the time it was just a little shop that didnt deal with the big manufacturers and i had no idea of auto art or kyosho etc etc so i had no intention of buying them, but then i found a shop in lytham st annes (you should have heard of that place daggernite) if you visit there any tiem i can tell u the shop name and stuff.but i found that place and saw the other models available and i bought an auto art skyline for £40.......at first i was liek WTF did i just do spendning £20 more than the other models but when i looked closely and stuff, that extra bit of detail makes it worh just sitting on your side and lookin at them.
im same as you,i buy the cars i would like to own in real life or drive.
if u wanna chat more about them, feel free to add me to your MSN or sunthin,if u have any questions that is :)

aren't you a helpful guy gis.....good to see :P
A nice addition for you, I'm assuming this is an Autoart? How is the interior on this one? :P
I am like you, I just buy the cars I would like to own - I don't really try to collect a certain make or series. My next model will be something a little more rare - hopefully if things work out.
lol follow my guidence,im converting daggernite into one of us dingo, lol
yes the model is an auto art,one of the millenium edition versions, and the interior is pretty nice with carpet, lol of course :P
tell u what i did see that i was shocked at,it was a very limited production 1:18 mclaren SLR hand built with 852 peices or sumthin and it was £162  i wonder who makes that
dingo
01-05-2005, 10:52 PM
£162  thats about $AU 400 I think.....must be pretty good for that price....I think I'll try and stay away from such expensive models. Didn't it have the name of the manufacturer on the box, or didn't you have a proper look?
Your right dani, everything looks great on this model.i like it........i feel a BMW M series group shot pic coming on later this afternoon, lol
dingo - i didnt see the manufacturer on the box no,the shop i go to has them all out of there box's in big glass cabinets and just a small description of what the model is and the price, but no manufacturer, you can usually guess by the price but £162 for a 1:18 is a lot so i had no idea, they had it in a maroon colour and in black,in black it looked fantastic
Danny as I told you I love that M3.. I own a red one my self.. and it is one of my favorite. You made a very wise choice.

I think I know what model it is, check out the following link:
http://www.cmc-modelcars.de/english/modelle/MBmcl/MBmcl.html
the company called CMC makes a 1:12 version but apparently a 1:18 version was due to come out at the end of '04. :D It would make sense if its this one, since the detailing is amazing and would warrant such a high price. :D
EDIT: I just found the 1:18 SLR on their site, and its going for US$ 208 which is about £110 so its cheaper then what you saw :?
http://www.cmc-modelcars.de/shop/models118.htm
hmmm, interesting that could be the one.when i saw it the quality looked fantastc.i was thinkin whether £162 is good or bad to spend on one,i said i would never do that again after gettin the supra model....but this one looks really good
dingo
01-07-2005, 07:43 AM
yeah it does, I found out about it in a magazine article I read today where they talk about the model a little bit......the 1/12 model would make a great showpiece :D
how much is the 1:12 i cant imagine it bein cheap seen as the 1:18 costs that much, lol but man i bet its an awesome peice to look at
dingo
01-07-2005, 08:24 AM
Holy shit!!!!! They cost about US $2000 - probably out of the question :(
http://www.cmc-modelcars.de/shop/models112.htm
lol i think that one is out of the question.if anythin ill get that 1:18 but thats pushing it a little actually
Oh, just noticed your addition and since I own the same model, in red, I know it was a very good choice :D congrats!
Thanks dude, and if u remember the last time i went and said i passed on this model but i regretted it you kindly told me that i was a moron and shoudl have gone back for it,lol

did it cost the same as most AA models?
just a bit more.....was up for £60,but they introduced a new "membership" to the store,so i joined and now get 10% off every model i buy so i got this one for £54 in the end
the model has a small silver plate underneath it with that number of the model scratched into it,so im guessing it costing a bit more is coz its sumthin rare/special
