Right, I have been unsure about this car for some time not. I love the concept, but at 30k you could get:

One of these and 10k spare!

Golf R32

and something like 6k left!

You can have a Chrysler Crossfire:

for the same money!!!

Or perhaps a Nissan 350Z and some change:

You could almost get a BMW 330ci!!

DAMN IT, you can get an EVO VIII for the same price!

Soo, would you spend £30,000 on a clio??

I love the car, but I think it is overpriced

I can buy much "wiser" cars... but only the Clio in the bunch above has exotciness :D in the supercar rally, the only car that wasn't a Pagani, Ferrari, Lambo or such, was a Clio V6!! :D

Fantastic car! Love that it is RWD and has the engine behind me! I'd spend the extra money because it's so awesome.

Well .... the Clio is the hottest hot hatchback in the market ... lets say that the r32 is the sport version of the Golf ... the RS is the sport version of the Focus ... the Clio Sport is the sport version of the Clio , and the V6 is the supercar version of the Clio ... the only exotic hatch in the roads !!!

I think it isn´t the best car of the lot and not even the best hatch, but it certainly is the most exotic.

I would go for a Mercedes C classe 320 avantgarde 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Eventhough I have to admit the Clio V6 is a special car, and maybe later it will become a collectors item.

definitely i would choose the V6, but the evo would be in my mind always, the same wiht the 350z (track edition with leather)

Definetly the Clio V6, its without a doubt the hottest hatch around. Though at the time of making a final decision between an EvoVIII or this. It will depend completely on that particular moment.

The concept is reat but this car is far from enthusiasming automotive press. Furthermore and because I'm french I can't bear that the engine was developped by porsche when we see what renault is able to do in F1

I once saw a comparison between a Clio and a Z3 3.0 roadster.. and the Clio isn't just up to the job...

For god sake... a car like this.. and it hasn't got a limited slip diferencial!!!

Sorry.. but no... I would buy much better machines for that price! Better in track, and in quality.. this is a Clio.. it has the quality of a matchbox car when compared to the other cars here!
I once saw one, and after inspecting it, I discovered that under the fiber enhancements near the door opener, it was only half painted... like as in "humm.. paint enough.. no one would see if this part isn't painted..."

:(

I would go for a Mercedes C classe 320 avantgarde

Heiii... SpeedKilar... we're talking about fast sports cars... not Taxis (cabs) with big engines!!!

If I had that amount of money to spend on a car, the only one of the alternatives Jon named that could make me doubt a little is the 330ci. The Evo VIII is a superb car, but I would want my car to look special as well. I like the Clio V6's concept, power, handling, looks and sheer madness. It would be on the top of my list.

P.S.: there's much debate on the handling of the car. EVO is very enthusiastic about the MkII and I tend to believe them.

It isn't cheap, that's for sure. But it's also very exotic. More exotic then any of those others you've mentioned.

Some people will still think however, that much money for a Clio  , you've got to be crazy.

One of the things I regret about it, is the fact that it hasn't got the practicality of other hot hatches.

But I'll certainly prefer it to the Focus RS or the Crossfire.

The EVo8 & the 330Ci however, are also very tempting. And much more practical at the same time so... don't know. I doubt that I would choose for the clio, certainly not as my only car. As a second car: hell yeah!!

Firstly, id buy the evo probably if i got the 30000 to spend in a car

Secondly, i dont think that the clio is overpriced,,,,,cars as exclusive as the Clio V6 is, costs its kind of price, for instance the pug 205 turbo 16, the lancia delta S4, the renault 5 turbo 2 costed a similar price when launched in the market

I'd get the Clio, no doubt. Imagine driving it in Canada, without a single person (except for some of the foreigners) knowing what it is.

I can hear the cops. "The.....car.... blasted past us at 200 km/h" "It's aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...................... ........ small car from hell. "

I'd buy it with my eyes closed, hands down to the best hot hatch ever produced

The Clio V6 is awesome. Reminds me of the R5 Turbo, one of my all-time favorite cars though. I'd rather have an R5 Turbo, though, it's just so much more wild and has so much more "soul". But if I was to get into the old rally car category, I'd probably have to pick up an Escort Cosworth RS to complement te R5 Turbo.

Id prefer the R5 turbo rather than the Clio V6.......for instance the clio has some things to be improved rather than the R5 that for me it hasnt.....for instance ive never had the chance to test the clio, but for instance, it doesnt have any limited differential as far as i know, the car sounds too soft and without personality for me, the interior of it is boring and too similar to an ordinary clio, and the steering wheel doesnt have any sporty cue
