I'm sure some of you know that TVR hasn't sold cars in America since the mid 1980's. Well, it looks like they're coming back! After reading an article in Cargo magazine (which stated the Tuscan would be available here in Fall 2005) I e-mailed a TVR rep for some clarification. I got this response:
Dear Mr Jones,
Thank you for your email and your kind words of encouragement for TVR's return to the American market.
We are working very hard on meeting up with the necessary legislation and homologation rules in order to sell the Tuscan in the USA. As you can probably imagine, this all takes time.
We really hope to be out there as soon as possible, but as of yet, there is no date set in stone.
If it is OK with you,Â*we will add you toÂ*our file, and as soon as we have any further detail on when and where, we will contact you.
Keep in touch!
Best wishes,
Kate Samuelson (Mrs)

Good stuff! I also sent an e-mail to MG-Rover inquiring about MG's return to the US, but it wasn't as optimistic. I don;t have the e-mail anymore but it said something along the lines of "we're thinking about it, but we haven't found the right opportunity yet".
Oh well.

Good old Tuscan....cheaper than a Viper, a lot cooler, and faster if I remember the specs right.

Sweet...I never knew that TVR sold cars in America at one time.
That will be badass for TVR to sell cars here...I just hope that the legalization doesn't add too much cost.
The devil drives a TVR

Yeah, the imported here from the 50's to like 1985. We got the original Griffith, Tuscan, etc etc, and most importantly the Wedges.

Dude, that rules!
Now, I just need to save my pennies. I'll have enough for one in thirteen years.
Now, Puegoet, Fiat and Alfa need to make a comeback. Vauxhall can come too, but only if they give us the VX220.

Yeah, I've been there before. Pretty cool site.
If anything, I'm just excited that TVR's coming back. Now MG needs to come back over, the ZS would make a great BMW alternative, and the ZR & TF are just plain cool.

When I was in Las Vegas three years ago, I caught about six MG cars with test gear inside while en-route to see the Hoover Dam. Caught up with them there (They were probably thinking 'Who's the crazy bloke in the red rental?') and took some pics. I will post them when I find them.
Great! I still have them on my image site!

I saw one a few years back in Sacramento it had the color changing paintjob like in Swordfish it was quite the car. I'm sure to actually officially sell them in the States their biggest hurdle will be the Exhaust.

***THIS IS NOT TRUE***
A good friend of mine is VERY VERY close to Peter Wheeler and everyone in TVR UK, as well as everyone in TVR Malaysia (a separate company).
TVR is *not* coming to the UK. Peter Wheeler is demanding very outrageous terms in order to have the US license (based on arbitrary crap), and wants to have no involvement in the actual TVR US side of things.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

It's not a cosworth engine...but he had some body issues and he went to the gumball when it was SF-Miami, so he added that sticker to hide the mis-hap! :D

Well, it was good dreaming while it lasted - let's hope Peter manages to get his terms met. I would love to see a TVR back on the streets of USA. I was pumped when the Elise came...only took about 10 years...

Uh...Peter Wheeler's terms are outlandish and absolutely stupid. They're not based on reality, they're based on his mood of the day.
