Not that anyone out side of Canada really watches hockey, and considering all of Canada already knows this already, but i thought i would still post the news :D.

on a side note, this might be the last hockey on tv for awhile and these last couple of games have been amazing !!

I love hockey myself, i grew up with it. a couple of years ago, I thought the biggest oxy-moron in the world was "tampa bay, Stanley Cup Champions"
I was laughing when they won, but I'm glad they did.

oh, and WHAT A GAME!! AWESOME!

Hockey is Dead...all the best players dont give a shit about playing anymore......( M. Lemieux, Brett Hull, Bure, Forsberg, Jagr, Kovalev).....the sport is getting more boring by the second.....the shots in the 7th game were 15 to 17.....that's crap.....anyways the reason hockey is dead is cause of too many teams....too many shitty players and not enough skill......hence all the dump ins and not enough passing......the most exciting player this season was datsyuk...most skilled player in the NHL......For hockey to survive imo is to get rid of 10teams, otherwise ppl like Donald Brashear and Keith Premieu will dominate the league, sure there are exceptions like St. Louis but its so rare. You have one small skilled forward compared to hundreds of huge mildley skilled players.....and so I bring this up, the most boring and most common play/strategy in the NHL is the 'dumpin'......90% of the game is spent behind the net, wtf is that?

Max Power, well i hope you know your hockey, because dumpin is not playing behind the net, dumpin is tossing the puck into the other teams zone, and chasing it down, to try and create some scoring changes.

Tamapa Bay, and Calgary don't play that style of hockey end of point. i would not arguee with you on this, because if you watch the games you should know this

2nd, Lemieux is very interested in hockey that is why he is playing, to keep his team alive, he didn't play this year because he is a very sick man, and his body is weak from being ill for so many years.

3rd playing behind the net, like the greatest player of all time #99, takes alot of skill and that is why he did so well.

4th Premieu is a very good skilled player and does his job very well, just ask the leafs, they would tell you.

5th your thoughts about players not giving a shit about the game, well look at any pro. sport, take basketball, what do you think Vince Carter cares about? money or the raptors getting to the finals? if he thought about that he would be playing every game with an injury, like AI did the last 4-5 years.

6th, 7th.... 8th...

there are to many thing to say about this, Maxine please don't mess with me and hockey i played AAA for 5 years of my life.

i agree this years finals were lackluster performances... but its far from dead! i too wish calgary won, since those underdogs did beat the team to beat (Red Wings)

cirtainly some congrats to the winning team...how many game 7 1 goal stanley cup games are there? that was great

Well #99 didn't dump the puck to the boards and then chase it down and then stay there for 1/2 a shift....+ he passed the puck not just cycle it mindlessly back and forth
Lemieux is playing because his team is shit and without him would easily be beaten by an OHL team ( even though he's my fav player he is a complete moron as an owner....Kovy, Jagr, Straka, Lang, Fleury etc )
Hull, Lemiuex, Kariya and plenty of others are constantly complaining about obstruction, so basically shitty players hang on to skilled players and force them to dump the puck
And getting back to the Flames vs. Lightning....yes Iginla's line and Lecavallier's line had some incredible deaks and passes but the rest of the lines play the dump and cycle game......and that's my point, that is the worst and most boring play to watch in hockey.......since I figure u've watched the leafs play than u saw almo dumping the puck in while he was one on one with a defencman and then chased it ...... its the strategy that's killing the game, the dump in has ruined hockey

......and u just reinforeced my point dump and chase......its crap and it needs to go....passing is a lost art and players need to learn it if hockey is going to be entertaining as a sport and not as a batlle of stregth in the corners

well to get rid of your problems with the game there are alot of rules that would make the game faster and better (now i sound like a man form the FIA on f1)

- don't allow the team on a p. kill to ice the puck
- call icing at the line
- no 2 line pass rule
- no ties at the end of the 1st ot ( this is by far the worst thing, people paying hunderds of $ to see a tie game )

Don't c how that get rids off the dump in, or obstruction or lack of skill in the NHL, or lack of scoring
Auto icing does nothing but prevent injuries, no 2 line pass rule would mean u could goal suck , no ties.....I don't c how that helps either
Hockey was fine in the 80's and early 90's (without the proposed rules) but than more and more emphesis was put on strength, size and less on skill, such as passing, skating, and vision of the ice.........and so therefore its automatic for most players......to dump the puck......and I don't think its fixable with a few rule changes, NHL needs more skiled players like Sakic, St. Louis, Lecavalier, Kovalchuk, Heatly and less players like Handzus and Chara....well I doubt its gonna happen

cool shit. i haven't followed hockey for almost 8 years now, funny cuz it used to be the only thing i ever did or thought about. i remember when tampa bay was a nobody team, like a decade ago when they even had a female golie (a frenchwoman named manon rheaume). still remember how to spell her name and everything.

I live in Australia and am a big hockey fan, but none of my friends are.
I went to a sports bar and watched the game on a big screen, you guys in Canada/USA are lucky you get the games since cable tv broadcasts one game a week over here (not counting the Cup Final).

It was a good series, but I really did want Calgary to win, unfortunately, it wasn't to be, the underdogs won....I suppose the only redeeming factor of the outcome was that Andreychuk finally got his ring.

Although I dont favor either team, I would have to say that Nikolai Khabibulin and Ruslan Fedotenko did an amazing job.

The goal that Conway made was impressive as well.
