it depends on which version of the ZR-1...the initial cars had a 375bhp engine, and the later versions had a 405bhp engine.

I thought that lotus designed the engine for the zr-1 and mercury marine built the engine. They raised the horsepower of the zr-1 to 405 when the viper came out with 400 horsepower. They wanted to keep the zr-1 the most powerful american car.
