They are definately great cars. I was watching TV the other day and the showed how a driver of one of these was driving on an auto-x circuit and sent it down some stairs. A sad moment indeed :|

I've always liked the F50. So what if it wasn't as fast as the McLaren; it was still bloody fast in a straight line and flat out amazing in the corners. Plus the whole detuned F1 engine is enticing. I dunno, I might be crazy, but I might even take it over an F40--I just respect its engineering. (Hmm... maybe not hah)

I've got one video of one. But it's filmed from a 355 that is behind it. At least I think it's a 355. It's a pretty cool video. Hit me up on AIM and I'll send it to you.

Yeah those videos are amazing. You can hear the Formula One roots of the car when it hits like 10 000 rpm on the straight. Btw, the videos are from http://www.nsxfiles.com/fontana_ferrari.htm

hey dude, i dont think it was available in silver. that specific car has a interesting history. it was stolen from a car park and recovered and auctioned off. the new owener decied to change it from the once beautiful red to that silver you see in the pic. and its one that got built in 1997 as it has the slight upgrades me thinks 8)

Do you want to know why so many F50's have crashed? Because these stupid assholes who just came into money during the stock market wild days and decided, hey I have money, I have never driven driven anything more advanced than a Toyota Celica, but I am going to go out and buy a Ferrari F50 anyway. Than I am going to proceed to drive like a moron, instead of taking driving lessons, crash the car, cannot afford the repairs and oops, I destroyed another one. Ferrari should ban all of these morons and only let these cars into the hands of capable drivers.

The reason why I am so mad, is that I live in a town where money runs rampant and parents buy thier kids Ferraris, Porsches, MB Sl600's like nothing. Then these kids crash em because they cannot drive, it really pisses me off as I can drive anyone of them under the table, around the table and then back again, because I have taken advanced driver course training on racing tracks.

thats too happened to my brother freind who bought GT3 for a bout 130.000 dollars ..and i tested it in the high ..

he was cared to death that i was driving 300klm ..and i feel ok ..and i was testing the grib that time ......

so if he scares that much ..why did he bought it ..??

:x and the most thing make me angry .....that he crashed with it ....he said ..that he pushed the car hard in a small road between roand a bouts ...but the fast that he was going ..made him lose the thinking of what to do ..??? :? ...but he managed to stop it ...

UNDER A TRUCK .....????!!!!!

stubied guy ....he just finished school .....and bought the fast car ..then he can't offer to drive it as we can do ...so it's better for him to buy ..smart ..so it will help him to be smarter ..

Yeah, it's kind of frightening just how some people seem to have no respect for the machine they're driving, or the people around them - especially when they're in an expensive car. A few months ago, I was cruising about in some moderate traffic down one of the local side roads, when a Viper with two teenage boys just shot by and around people using the SHOULDER of the road as a passing lane. Admittedly, I'm not the most lawful driver -- I like to make sure the suspension and engine are, um, well-exercised, once in awhile -- but that behavior was outrageous. I feared for any person on the side of the road with a broken down car. It was just outright scary to think of what might have happened if there was a broken down car around a blind curve in front of those idiots. :x It's WAY too easy for idiots to get a license in this country. A multiple choice test and a 5 minute drive around a glorified parking lot is barely a way to qualify a driver :(

And as to your brother, toprpm, maybe it was the crucial awareness of that 130,000 he spent on the car that made him so afraid. Protection of investment, and some such :) But hey, a lot of people buy the cars for the name or the status. If the manufacturers required a test of driving skills of those buying their sports cars, you'd probably find most of those drivers ploughing about in something a bit more land yachty. But it's the money, not the fiber that counts in a business of selling. :)

As to the F50, though. Got to see one up close on a tour of some of Roger Penske's personal car collection, when I got to do a parade lap before a race at Michigan International Speedway. When you see the car, it's clear it's meant to be a racing machine, not a sporty luxo-mobile. The interior is impressively spartan (I did like how Jeremy Clarkson quantified the 'luxury features' in the Top Gear feature on the F50 :) ). Look through the rear grille on the back bodywork on the car, and you can pretty much see there's engine, suspension, and not much filler afterwards. In some spots, you could even see some of the carbon fiber bodywork showing through thinner patches of paint. Just going around the car, though, it looked like blatant, jaw-dropping, horsepower-maddened vehicular aggression. Wicked, wicked car.

the f50GT look almost the same as the GT1, both car goes faster then anything else on the face of the earth too. BTW is that f50GT a homologation special like the CLK-GTR and the GT1??
