Hi there,

I promise two days ago, I'm finally back from Francorchamps with many pictures and videos :)

I'm not very good at telling long stories, so I will display pictures and explain every of them, but let me explain a bit.

Everything begin the Friday.
I woke up at 8h00 and take the road to Spa/Francorchamps (S/F).

I was alone to go there cause nobody wanted to come with me cause they were all studying for exams, even my girlfriend :(

It was 10h45 when I arrived at S/F.

I was riding slowly cause the sight was very nice, this is a part of the Belgium I really like... suddenly

I saw that Enzo parked on the left side of the street !

I brake the car and stopped it in front of the Enzo.

Here you can see my car... not the white ! the blue :) I was coming like the Fiesta in the background when I crossed the road to stop in front of the Enzo ... you can imagine the heads of ppl inside the Enzo :D

Suddenly one of the man called me in english and asked me for the road to the city, not the circuit.

I helped them, they say thanks ... and they leaved.

Then, I saw that 360. It was the first time I saw a Ferrari with the engine turned on in front of me. I parked my car as fast as I could ... and took pictures... but isn't it a 360 CS ?

There were not alot of cars but a big shiny sun.

Then I spoke a bit with him... He was there alone too ... and wish what ! ? ! He live at 10 min from my house !!! What a great coincidence !!!
I proposed him to stay with him cause he was knowing the circuit very well and we passed the whole day together ... it's already better than alone.

BTW the guy who asked you directions to the circuit was most probabely a Dutchie. As the Enzo had a dutch registration.
[nitpicking mode] The driver could even have been fined by the police as such plates are illegal for day to day motoring. These green registration plates are for dealers and workshops which sell cars. Roadtax and insurancepremium is payed for that registration number. But this number is not directly linked to one specifc car so the registrationplates can be used for any car during testdrives; so only for a spin without stops or visits to a circuit [/nitpicking mode]

About the plates debate, if you check my Gran Prix retro topic, you will see that the Challenge Stradale has a strange plate too, compared to others... well, that's because it's a garage's temporary plate like the one on the Enzo.. and also here it's not really allowed to use it like that :D

These plates are real but tyhe plates on the Enzo are used on a manner which explores the boundaries of what is legal.
We call them traderplates here in our country.
Let's say a car dealer has tradingstock of 20 cars which all can be testdriven.
It would be a waste of money to have all twenty cars taxed and insured individually. So a special arrangements has been made:
> each cardealer has 2, 3 or perhaps even 5 registration plates
> each registration plate has been taxed and insuranced
> whenever a car from that tradingstock enter the public road that green registration plate must be used
> the only limitation is that the green plates can only be used during the official opening times of the car dealer in question and just for testdrives or to transport the car from workshop A to workshop B.
So, strictly spoken, when you enjoy your long awaited testdrive in an Enzo and you decide to stop on the boulevard to show off and perhaps buy an icecream you can get a fine from the local police because that's not allowed.

I visited the ferrari days in 2001, the cars on the track and near it were equaly interesting :)
Your photos are of a high quality dude, what type of digital camera do you use ?

They have the porsche days on Francochamps each year as well, you probably know this, but it is worth the visit. Those porsche days are completely free, the year that I went to the ferrari days I had to pay a certain amount of money to enter and then you still had to pay an extra to visit the paddack and pits. That was a bummer :? But eventually it was a nice day, don't get me wrong here.

Last thing: It is great to see another young guy driving a VW Passat :o 8) :D Is it yours or your parents' ? I like it a lot, mine is a 1.9L TDI (red "I") I'm a big fan of this car.

2) The motor is Very Very Very Good ... but a bit noisy.
3) VW spare parts are very expensive
4) Low quality interior ...even if it is a Confortline.
5) Too much cars dealers copied the passat shapes
6) There are definitely too much Passat on the street.

Indeed man the 115 BHP is very good, I have once driven a 130 BHP one, no need to say that is rocks. I mean if you take into consideration that is just a 1.9L diesel engine :lol: But on the other hand I agree that the tdi's are abit too noisy, but yea there you already have a difference between a common rail and tdi.
Ok, I'm going to give you mine opinion concerning your six points :wink:

1) front suspension: VW's suspension in general is waaay too soft, mine has sport suspension, but then on the other hand, the Belgian roads are bad or maybe better awful. But indeed youngsters like us want sport suspension :wink:
2)good but noisy
3)Spare parts aren't cheap but not more expensive than other make(especially German)
4) If we want a very good interior, we will have to an Audi then :)
5)Indeed, look at the Mondeo, clear example I think
6)It is indeed a very popular model, but I don't mind that. And that has its avantages as well; namely that we can find our spare parts much more easier in a car recycling firm 8) :lol:

The new model will be coming out at the end of this year, looks great !!! So I'm doomed to buy another Passat :wink:
