Saturday I was visiting my parents in Franeker, in the north of the Netherlands. There was an oldtimerrally going on so I took some pics with my dad's digicam. I know these cars are not usually of interest to most JW members, but I thought it was nice to see them.

An amazing Lagonda teamcar from 1936. According to the information board in it, it's one of only four built. It raced at the 24hs of Le Mans. This was the best car of the day IMO.

Damn!! I spent ages last night uploading my pics to Zippyimages because my own space here in the Photogallery was full and now it appears to be gone altogether. Sorry about that, guys. I'll upload them somewhere else and then edit my first post.

@ dani: The same goes for me too, but it was interesting to see all those unusual cars and the atmosphere of the event helped as well. BTW, there were around 500 (!) cars and bikes participating.

Nice pics Stradalé. Something different is allways nice and I do like classic cars.

I wouldn't like to own one this old (give me something from the 60's or 70's), too much fuss and too little go (performance) but I certainly wouldn't turn down a drive in them!!

IMO it's a pitty there aren't many manufacurars around who look at those classic cars for their design. I like those small bonnets, widening to the cockpit and those lovely curbs of the metal that cover the front wheels. The only car makers who still do this are: Morgan & Gilet (Vertigo).

thx for the pics.

It's a pitty that I can't see the: Jaguar XK120 Coupé. IMO a great looking car. I've seen one a couple of times!! Looks magnificent, very low to the ground, long stretched bonnet... superb!

Pics fixed now. Photobucket resized them, so if anyone wants a slightly bigger version of a picture, just let me know.
