Table of noise levels II - now from the outside of the cars

Since some people requested the noise level values from the outside of the car in my other thread about this, I'll post this. No magazine that I know tests the noise levels from the outside, but I found here in an old magazine a test called "The Top Supercars of the Century", by the british ex-pilot Derek Bell. In the end of the test, they made a test to measure the noise levels.

Conditions: from the OUTSIDE of the car, with the car stopped and the engine revving at 4000 rpm. Here are the results:

Ferrari F40 (Tubi Style) - 118,0 dBa
Ford GT40 (mk2) - 116,9 dBa
Lamborghini Countach (LP400S, no cats) - 114,8 dBa
Lamborghini Miura - 113,7 dBa
De Tomaso Pantera - 104,0 dBa
Maserati Bora - 103,4 dBa
Porsche 959 - 99,8 dBa
BMW M1 - 98,0 dBa
Mclaren F1 - 95,6 dBa
Ferrari 360 Modena - 94,0 dBa

Just for comparison, a F1 car is about 160 dBa!
