And for all of the purists: F. U.!! This is a testament to enjoying a car! For all of the sunday drivers who wax their car more than they drive em: I can feel only pity.

Totally removable, but this is way cool:

I've always liked bike racks, especially on cars such like an Impreza.

However, this is my first time seeing it on a Ferrari and it's beautiful.
I love it.

My dad road bikes as well and maybe I can give him an excuse for buying me a Maranello, so that I can transport his bike. :D

Man, way to be...all you need is the Ferrari bike now!

I knew some of you would have a heart attack. My mechanic has the Colonagno CF3 Ferrari Bike - it's absolutely crazy. I don't think I'm ready for it yet. Mine's still a nice custom setup.

As for an SUV: I've been using a Lexus LX470 to transport the bike until today...but this is too much cooler.

You guys are gonna hate this, but a friend of mine, who has what is reputedly the fastest F40 that is street legal (and proven on MANY, MANY tracks) has a bike rack on his F40 too. Of course his is removable - in fact he gave me the idea. :D

Altho it kinda hurt my eyes a little, but damn was it a cool way to transport bikes.
Now let's wait and see if anyone do it on an Enzo.

To all those that scream and don't understand: you are crazy! To go around in a Ferrari taking around a bike on the roof is 1000 times cooler than to use a boring SUV just because it has to be like that!!

Dan, you did the right thing!!

I have an idea.. why not to tow around your Lexus with the 550?!?!? That would be CRAZY :D please!!!! :D

cho: totally removable. I can get it off in about 5 minutes - about 20 to put it back on. Right now I'm cycling 3 days / week, so I think I will leave it on for a while. We'll see if it affects driving.

TT: Err - I can't get a trailer hitch on the car! Paneling in the way... otherwise you know I'd try! Ferrari support vehicle...with a flatbed towing rig on the back, right? :D

hey man, the only thing that's a disgrace are those insulting boba here...at least he has the money and the guts to do it to his car...

btw, the sight of a red ferrari towing a ferrari f1 on a flat bed in the back would be awesome!

whats ferrari all about, it's not about hauling cargo etc. If you can afford a ferrari get some thing that does haul cargo. Seems like a disgrace.

I prefer 1000 times somebody like Dan that even if owns other cars he want to use the Ferrari for as many purpose as possible that somebody that buy a Ferrari and store it away to use it only two or three times a year!

Mercedes: everyone is entitled to their own opinion - that's what makes the world spin. I happen to enjoy driving my car as much as possible, and if that means I get to drive it instead of the LX470 to my cycle rides, I get that much more time in my car enjoying it.

I appreciate your sticking up for me - but DrijF360 is as entitled to his opinion as you are yours and I am mine. trust me - friends of mine think I've lost it this time...

Hmmm...never seen that before...

On the one hand I agree that Dan is at least using his Ferrari a lot, which is good. On the other, I'm not sure whether or not this is the sort of usage I'd like to see with a Ferrari. Ferraris are abviously not meant to move stuff around.

Anyway, I leave it entirely up to Dan to do with the car whatever he wants. LOL, like I could ever really say something about it... The car is being used and it's not something that damages it. I'm way more distressed when someone sticks chrome wheels under his Ferrari or what have you.

Now I'm also curious as to what an F40 looks like with a bicycle rack attached to it...

haha... that's great.

Although I have quite a few friends that will puke when I show this to them.

Oh yeah, and if your gonna do that, at least make sure to buy a ferrari bike, like the guy in the earlier picture had.

Or a mercedes bike, I once saw one for $3,000.

FYi, the bike I am running costs ~6k if you pay retail. I have a hook up for cycling gear...but for those saying the bike is cheap...little do you know.

This guy is crazy.. who drives a bike when he can drive a ferrari..  ..

Looks cool and practical but a ferrari is not made for practicality so.. that's just wrong.

At first I was like "WTF? Holy Shit!"

Then I realised that's exactly what boba wanted. :)

I don't think I would ever do it... but then again, since the rack is completely removable, maybe I just might... with a huge THULE luggage carrier (empty of course) in the place of a bike. :)

yes man what are you thinking, enjoying your car the way you want. god knows you should put it in a humidified garage, start it once a month, and go in once a week and mastrubate while looking at it.

Damn man only 22 yrs old what do u guys do for a living????

bobafett
06-03-2004, 07:40 PM
Daniel: that's what I've been doing wrong!!! I will summarily remove the rack, pray to the gods of un-driving, acquire a car bubble and humidifier, roll back my odometer (so there's no proof that I drive it 1200 miles / month), disconnect the battery, and wash it til the paint starts to fall off.

Caps: thanks for the kind words. BTW, my friend just sold Newport Autosport. VERY cool guy.

Krlos: it's metal, plastic and leather. Get over it. The fastest street legal F40 (on track and off) has a bike rack on it too. Removable, like mine. In fact, he's the one who gave me the idea.

They're cars. Meant to be enjoyed. If you don't drive em, you're wasting your time. My attitude is drive it, break it, fix it, drive it. What Enzo intended.

I will say this, I do remove the rack from time to time because there's quite a bit of aero drag from it. Punching it - I can notice the difference. Hmm...time to make more power... :D
