ok so its a sunday morning in england,i get woken up at 9am by my friend tellin me to be at his house at 2pm for a ride to southport to the beach for a bbq.ok cool but 9am ON A SUNDAY MORNING when i only went to sleep at 4am that same sunday morning, lol here he is the fucker with his g/f
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/1766/beach1.jpg

ok so we get there and i get out my car and look up to see sumthin very rare here.......ITS CLEAR AND BLUE lol
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3509/beach2.jpg

for sum weird reason out of the 3 cars that we went in mine became the table using my parcel shelf of the car.fair enough....
http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/8950/beach3.jpg

....so off i go for a pee why we are waiting for the bbq to get goin.i return to now find that the bastards put all the dam meat on my hood to defrost it,apparently my hood was the hottest after the 25 mile drive we had gettin there, how that happened im not sure  ........strange,hehehe
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9823/beach4.jpg

i turn around and walk a couple feet from the car to take a pic of the table and defrost machine saxo to find now that it has become a seating area by my cousin at the back lol
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2958/beach5.jpg

when the meat got taken off my hood i thought id take a quick pic of it with no meat on it b4 they decided to use my car as a beach buggy or sumthin
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/198/beach6.jpg

front shot of my car aswell
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5333/beach7.jpg

some artistic shot i thought id attempt lol
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/4255/beach8.jpg

from my car to my cousins new car the new Ford Sport KA,the KA's evil twin
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/4736/beach9.jpg

he then decided to do a beach burnout as i called it lol so i quickly whacked my camera into sport mode to shoot the big beach burnout he did.this pic turned out better than i thought it would,i think it looks awesome :D
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/3194/beach10.jpg

the result, not that long in lengh,it starts a couple feet back from were i am standing but at the end were the car stopped and just spun the wheels it dug itself 2 deep holes, couple inches at least lol
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/4512/beach11.jpg

now,on to a couple scenery pics.i dont know if anyone not from the UK here on JW will know this place or not.but that in the distance across the sea is a place called blackpool,in the pic shows the blackpool tower and the rollercoaster ride called the pepsi max big one,one of the tallest coasters int he UK i thnk.....hard to beleive that is about 60+ miles away from were i stood and took that pic.
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2782/beach12.jpg

an oil rig miles and miles out into the sea, took this pic at about 4pm
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/7858/beach13.jpg

same place and same oil rig but i took the pic just b4 we left at around 9pm.
http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2587/beach14.jpg

anyway those are a few pics from my sunday afternoon/evening.hope u like them along with all the sort of what turned out to seem like a story writing, lol

not that i think anyone would but if anyone would liek a higher res version of any of those pics please dont hesitate to ask :D

gis
05-17-2004, 09:38 AM
thenumber1 - southport is a completely different place now from what it was like 5 years ago.everythin is new and everything is clean.pretty nice

stracing - thats the front part of the beach, cant go on that part with the cars, plus the pics showing the front of the beach were taken after everyone left later on in the day at like 7-8pm and even 9pm like i wrote, between 2 and 7 it was jam packed with people.

Very nice pic set!! That last one from the oil rig is really nice as well as the one from the sand burn out...
It's amazing how blue the sky was, it sure looked like an amazing day!
I miss going to the beach now that it's almost winter and it's cold....
by the way who cooked??

gis
05-17-2004, 11:24 AM
lol, well the cooking was about 75% of it was my friends g/f,the female in the first pic.then i did a bit but that was only cause i wanted a spare rib and no one else did so just said fuck it and made them.then one of my cousins did the rest.
i actually got a shouting at coz the big pack of sirloin steaks......well to put it correctly 4 steaks and me thinkin it was just 2 big ones,so i go to open it and drain the blood and stuff out in a little hole in the sand, then out falls 2 of the steaks and then comes 4 punches to me lol

Great pics dude! And great day there... I thought in the UK it's always raining :) , at least when I went there it was always cloudy. The last pic is very beautiful... and this beach is nice too... I hate the beach in general, may be because here they are always full of people, and there is no space avaiable if you try to go there before 10h00. Apart, I also hate the sand, the sea water... but there are some beaches that I like, and this one is one of them.

thanks dani :D

its good to hear nice comments about the beaches here, especially southport, they definately have done a great job of clearing that place up,it was once a place were people just didnt care about the state of it,then it just got a full makeover, millions spent, new sea walls, new attractions and places to go eat next to the beach, the small theme park got a makeover with new rides and attractions, new gym on the sea front, new 12 screen cinema things for little kids aswell.its definately a nice place to visit and what makes it more fun is the drive to get there.25 miles there and obviously 25 miles back.of course u can do the motorway but to have fun in the cars we got the twisty roads are much more fun, with twists everywere then 8 miles of straight duel carriageway then back to twistys again :D

LOL, good pictures, looks like a fun day out, road trips down to the beach are always good, and always result in numerous illegal road antics!!
After hearing that pipercross, im surprised that bonnet wasnt hot enough to cook the meat, let alone defrost it!!!

He'll be able to do that once he gets his aftermarket exhaust. Then the Pipercross won't seem so loud either.

gis
05-18-2004, 07:06 PM
lol with an exhaust it will be much louder, attract more police to me.........hope its the fine blonde women that catches me though, lol

If Blackpool isn't that far away you ought to think about going to see the TVR works there. :-) (and take pics hehe)

IMO leave it with just the pipercross, the VTR exhaust note aint that good, on both the Mk1 and Mk2 ive put performance zorsts on me mates cars, and they sound ok, but boom inside the car a lot, rather than producing a nice note.
But as with most modifications once u start u cant seem to stop!

gis
05-19-2004, 06:24 AM
yeah i was thinkin bout just leavin the pipercross on its own,but if i want the big hp increase im goin to have to go for an exhaust system.if i get one it will be a straight through exhaust, cats removed.but again,im not a huge fan of a boom inside the car as u said.there must be an exhaust out there for it that will make a nice quietish noise.ill have to look around when the time comes. :D

666fast
05-19-2004, 04:02 PM
Leave the cats on and use the stock muffler. If you are worried of about the cats sucking all the power gains out, get high flow cats.

attract more police to me

That wouldn't be a problem if you weren't doubling the speed limit while passing cops. :P

gis
05-19-2004, 04:32 PM
LOL that wasnt my fault ok,i "was bein sensible" till my cousin went into the other lane passed me.so i followed, then so did my friend.anyway stupid cops shouldnt drive stupid ass city rovers pretendin to be cool........morons

coombsie66
05-19-2004, 07:44 PM
When we removed the cat on the Mk 1 it made no difference to the power. And a mechanic for the morgan i was chatting to who had a 106 rallie he was tuning said he pressure tested the cat (the underfloor one this is, not the inline shorty manifold ones which suck power) and it would not start to restrict power untill a lot more than a standard VTR puts out!
And fitting a 4-2-1 manifold on the VTR is a fuckin nitemare as well, we tried 3 variations form milteck (who are a bunch of tossers) and without changing the oil filter for a shorter one, and a lot of luck, u wont get one to fit for love nor money!!!!!!
The supercharger conversions on the VTR's seem to release a fair bit of power, but in the end, u may as well get a VTS when the insurance comes down.
Its just nice when ur car sounds faster, even if it aint goin that much quicker!!

gis
05-19-2004, 08:02 PM
to be honest i was completely surprised by how loud the filter was and how nice it sounds for just a filter.i was thinkin earlier today what other mods not including an exhaust or any major mods like a supercherger (£4500 to buy the kit BTW,lol),just thinkin what i could get just to get a few extra horses.a couple people said an FSE powerboost valve, but im not sure whether or not £90 is worth it for one.

but a VTS for sure will be in my possesion at sum point.obviously in the future..........actually definately the future after i heard what my friend with the punto got quoted for one,lol.......under his mums name out of 10 companys he called only 1 would touch him and they said it would be £2500 for the year lol thats insane

Some pics look more like you are in the desert than at the beach!! :D :D

coombsie66
05-20-2004, 02:20 PM
The power boost valve is a heap of shit, dont touch it. All it does is increase the pressure in the fuel injector rail, which unless you are increasing the air flow into the engine dramatically, will not do anything. Slight changes in the air flow/temp/density flowing into the engine are all acounted for by the ECU it adjusts the fueling to suit. They power boost valve is a gymic.

gis
05-20-2004, 03:44 PM
ok so thats a powerboost valve out then, lol

so whats that leave me with, lets say with a price area of about £300,what u reckon i should do?

coombsie66
05-21-2004, 05:20 PM
Start saving for the insurance on a VTS
Nah, i spect a good magnex system would probably be a good bet, they sound pretty good, last 4 ages but there aint really a lot of tuning left to do on the VTR engine, apparently the head design is appauling, people put other cams in and things, but i dont think its worth the effort.
Wheras the engine in the VTS is a top little motor, 215 NA bhp out of those little poket rockets in the super 1600 rallies!
Its difficult to know what to do as there aint that much potential in the engine, but if you got a good zorst system i think they will fit the VTS as well, so if you ever got one then you could whack it on that.
Look around Ebay as there are a quite a few 2nd hand saxo parts flying about, and IMO £350 for a stainless exhaust that gets you 2bhp at the most on a standard engine is taking the piss!!

gis
05-21-2004, 07:20 PM
yeah i suppose so.i may buy one just for the sake of having one,lol but im not 100% sure.and your right insurance for the VTS should start saving now or take a loan out LOL

1 other thing came to my mind aswell 2nite about my saxo, seen as performance parts arent really goin to gain me much for the money,i was thinkin bout sum different rims, 15's at the moment or maybe 16's as i dont want to go to big.

have u heard anythin about ECU/chip tuning for the saxo? i know i can get a chip for £300 worth it or not?

coombsie66
05-22-2004, 07:35 PM
I wouldnt say the chip is worth it, all they do is advance the ignition timing, so u have to run on high octane fuel, and increase the fueling a tad.
As for the 16's, i think yours is on 14's at the moment and 16's do look well good, thats what we went to on both saxos me mates had, on the MK 1 tho the under arch splash guards needed quite a bit of work 4 teh 16's wiv a 60 mm drop, i think urs might be awrite wiv 16's and 45 profile rubber.
They make a big difference to teh looks of teh car, but are a lot of money, and unless your thinkning of keeping your car for a while i wouldnt bother IMO. I mean my rims cost a fortune, and yeah they completely changed the looks of the car (and handling for the better!) but if i sell it in the next few years i'll loose a shit load!

gis
05-22-2004, 08:15 PM
well from how insurance on other cars is looking it will seem like the VTR will be with me for quite a while yet and if i get a newer car in the future (due to mileage on this one) it will more than likely be another VTR.so if i keep the stock rims i can just take the bigger ones off and replace witht he stock rims for the sale or sumthin and stick the others on the new saxo.

anyway they will take me a while to save up for them.my saxo is lowered but only by 25mm i think they said at the citroen dealership.(coz we asked them as its clearly lower than other standard saxo's.so fitting 16's shouldnt be a problem.

i was lookin at rims the other day thats what gave me this idea.some OZ rims really took my fancy they looked awesome and i personally thought they would suite the saxo.for looks it would look nicer IMO and for handling i would hope it would help make it better, especially as the tyres would be michelin pilot's aswell.
