I start off with this.

First Up-

E3 2004: Tekken 5 Checks In

Namco's fight sequel starts a massive ruck at E3. First screens!

Tekken 4 may have lost the battle of popular opinion with arch-rival Virtua Fighter 4, but Namco is stealing the lead with the fifth in the series - first shots have been shown at this week's E3 in Los Angeles.
Joining the cast this time around are serious looking martial artist Feng Wei, presumably-some-relative-of-Jin Asuka Kazama and Wesley-Snipes-in-Demolition-Man-style Raven. If you check out the screens you'll see old favourites like Paul Phoenix and Jin Kazama are still alive and kicking - apparently Heihachi Mishima is dead, but we suspect the old coot will be lurking somewhere in the shadows.
Tekken 5 is set to hit arcades this year, with console versions following in 2005. No details on what formats yet though - cross your fingers for a Soul Calibur 2-style, all-platforms release.

E3 2004: Colin McRae Rally 2005 skids in to E3 2004 enjoy!

Codies showing off latest rally stormer on PS2 and Xbox

Colin McRae Rally has become one of those once-a-year sequel generators, but at least Codemasters always has enough fresh ideas to keep us keen. This time around, CMR 2005 boasts a full online play mode for both PS2 and Xbox - a first for the series on console.
The new game is set to feature rally events set in 9 countries, a claim of over 300 stages in career mode and new and classic cars including the (deep breath) Volkswagen Golf MK5, Toyota Celica VVTLi, Lancia Stratos, Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, Alfetta GTV Turbodelta, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, Peugeot 206, 205 T16 Evo2 and VW Beetle Rsi.

Codemasters has also crammed in loads more graphical detail, even down to trees that shed leaves when you prang your expensive rally car into them. Don't do that too often though - you'll never win anything!

E3 2004: It's New Ace Combat 5 Screens

12 new snapshots from Namco's PS2 air combat sim

Fast approaching Police Academy notoriety in number of sequels spawned, Namco's air-bound war series Ace Combat is poised to fly in for a fifth instalment this Autumn.
Ace Combat 5 plunges you deep into a near-futuristic war, full of dogfights and explosive combat, as you control an in-flight squadron embroiled in battle. The game boasts 50 licensed aircraft, 30 hazardous missions and a single-player experience so intense you'll be stocking up on the headache tablets afterwards. Well, at least, that's what the press release has led us into believing.

In the meantime, treat your vertigo to this latest batch of head-spinning screenshots.

E3 2004: Def Jam 2 Screens In New York Drive-By

Hip-hop's finest get down and dirty on major home consoles this Autumn

Rappers, eh? If they ain't shooting each other or pinching the booty of a rival star's 'bitch', then you'll probably find them bashing each other into submission with a series of Hulk Hogan-style elbow drops. Well, at least that's what EA seems to think anyway.
Poised to squeal onto the scene in a big show of bling and profanity-stricken lyrical content, the publisher's hip-hop-themed grappler Def Jam Fight for New York is the sequel to last year's amusing fight fest Vendetta.

This latest edition features 40-plus names from the modern music industry, sparring off the likes of Busta Rhymes against Sean Paul, Snoop Dogg against Method Man, or if you're feeling particularly pervy, Lil' Kim against the sultry Carmen Electra. Mud is, apparently, not included.

As well as a whole new fighting engine, EA is promising heavily interactive environments and five unique fighting styles. Oh, and a hip-hop soundtrack too. Funny that, eh?

Def Jam Fight for New York will be hitting GameCube, PS2 and Xbox in September.
