I have a forum that was running the software JW is using, phpBB2, and recently upgraded to vBulletin 3. I'd really recommend the upgrade, the software costs a small initial fee, but it's the best forum software out there... lots of features, such as auto thumbnails on uploaded images, and I noticed a huge speed upgrade with the new software - it runs like a scalded cat.

However, you guys seem to have build a little system (including the Video Vault) around the phpBB2 software, and hacked it quite a bit, so it might be a little difficult to do an upgrade even if you wanted.

It was already suggested, but we are happy with what we are using now ;) speed is more than ok, we don't need the upload feature for the forum ;) and basically we already have all the needed ;)

**LOST**  But i'm with TT on the speed thing especially since i started using mozilla firefox the board has been running super fast for me, and as for picture uploads that doesn't sound like such a good idea, you never know what some idiots will upload to your site- becoming the sites responsibility? rather than if they host the pick themsleves.

There isnt much that VB can do that phpbb cant do with out enhancments. VB is vastly overrated and quite frankly i have NEVER seen a truly scientific study done proving that VB is faster than phpbb.

Everyone always gives their opinon.

I dont understand this thread... why change something that works perfectly ok for something that does the same job and costs money :?:

Because apparently vBulletin users always think it is better and have to suggest it to everybody :D

The tech support that I receive for it has been more than worth the money. Besides, it's good, useful software, I don't mind paying money for quality products.

Look, sorry that I ever even started this thread, I was just trying to make a helpful suggest. If things are running fine and that's all you need, then no one is forcing anything down your throat...
